Left With Whys...
When you leave us,
you don't just leave behind memories,
you also leave us with the whys.
We can ask ourselves until we find our own graves,
but we'll never know the truth,
the reason why you decided to leave us.
Was it because the nurse didn't stay and talk longer,
because she broke your heart,
because you just couldn't stand the hurt anymore,
or for reasons we can only speculate?
We ask ourselves what if...
what if she stayed and talked longer,
what if you could repair your heart,
what if I called you the night you took your life into your own hands,
what if you asked for help?
Would you still be here,
would you still be smiling,
still be laughing, or crying?
We learn to let go,
to move on,
but we never forget.
We keep your memories,
the love, and hope that,
someday we'll see you again, and when we do,
we'll know why you had to leave us when you did,
and until then, know we miss and cherish every moment we had with you.
When you leave us,

This is dedicated to:
Garrette: Sorry I smashed my face against a metal pole and bled all over, I told you I'd be right back, but I never came back. The last time I saw you was in Freshman swimming class where you never failed to make everyone smile. RIP.
Tucker: You always came to Spanish late, but that was okay, because you managed to always make us laugh. I still remember the day you showed up a half hour late because you refused to break character, you were cast in the school play as an old man and to advertise the play all the players came to school in costume. I remember you shuffling down the hall with your cane and hunched over, I also remember you told us all that you wanted your funeral to be a circus because you didn't want anyone to cry, you wanted them to smile. I look at your picture and smile, RIP.
Nate: Words could never express how much I miss your gorgeous smile. You were one of my best friends, always knowing how to make my days bright. I'm going to miss your laugh, your smile, and your car rides the most of all. I also wish you had the guts to ask me out when you wanted to, you always did give the best hugs and cuddles. I wish tears could bring you back, RIP.
Andrew: I never thought you'd leave us, you were always so happy. Never in a million years did I think I'd get the news I received. I'm going to miss you so much. We had a lot of fun together at work and I have you to thank for my skills at identifying Styx songs when they come on the radio and the nasty habit of burping out loud, since you told me it was your biggest pet-peeve for girls to burp out loud, of course I had to do it. You were always there to give me a hug when you knew I as upset at work and always made me laugh when you would show off your abs or when you'd give me rides home from work before I got my license or if my sister would come and steal the car. You truly were an amazing person, and so many people miss you right now.
