Welcome! this blog is for the purpose of showing and introducing the casts, directors and staffs responsible of the wonderful plays we have seen held in CAP Cebu presented by the Cebu Contemporary Theatre Festival for this year 2010.
Here are some basic information about CCTF
PURPOSE:
Their purpose is to make accessible quality art reflecting all of Cebu's diverse cultures; to support the city's broad educational and social goals through the arts; to provide leadership for all levels of arts in the community; and to present effective programs that add further dimension to our city, our schools, our jobs, and our creative spirits.
VISION:
The CCTF is working for a broad public understanding of, and appreciation for, the positive impact of the arts play in enriching cultural, economic, and intellectual life in our communities and schools. The CCTF is dedicated to championing the expansion of the arts, artistic excellence; access to the arts for all residents of the city; advocacy for adequate funding support; preservation and advancement of the city's artistic and cultural heritage, and collaboration with the city's public and private sectors.
MISSION:
To advance Cebu through arts and creativity.

Set in the northern highlands, "Wedding dance", is the most hurtful of all dramas, starting on a pang of pain, and never quiet letting go. Awiyao, a man who is part of an Ifugao tribe, is about to leave his wife, Lumnay. After several years of marriage, Awiyao and Lumnay never bore a child. Forced by the tribe to marry Madulimay, to ensure that his name is carried on his children, he says good bye to Lumnay, the only woman he ever loved.MAY TRABAHO NA PO AKO INAY Adapted from T. James Belich "Look Mom, I got a job!" Directed by Brett Aleonar Cast: Arnel Villamor, Kristene Villasis
Set in present day Manila, "May trabaho Na Po Ako Inay" is about a young man who just got a job playing the gorilla in the Manila Zoo. The public are obvious to the fact that most of the zoo are haired actors.ANGRY JURORS Replotted by CCTF from Wade Bradford's "Twelve angry pigs" Directed by Raymond Ordono Cast: Adrienne Lee, Charlene Virlouvet, Arnel Cabatingan
Adapted from Reginald Rose's "Twelve Angry Men", "Angry Jurors" is about a jury of animals; a cat, a bunny and a snake, who must decide on the guilt or innocence of the so-called "Big Bad Wolf". Set in the jury deliberation room after the trial, the jury looks over the testimonies and the evidence against the wolf. They later decide if he is guilty of huffing and puffing down of the house of the two little pigs. Dinhi nalang kutob ug daghang salamat.Adapted from Orlando Nadres' " Hanggang Dito Na Lamang At Maraming Salamat" Directed by Brett Aleonar Cast: Jose "Joe" Galeon, Lord Latonio, Lester Cawayan
First staged in 1974, this is considered the first Filipino play that openly tackles the gender issue of homosexuality with an emphatic understanding of closeted and liberal homosexuals and their humanity, and how society regards and treats them.
The play is about the repressed closet gay and pawnshop owner, "Tiyo Fidel". Nobody in town knows of his secret except for his best friend, the flamboyant Julie, the town's beautician, who is more open with his sexuality. He advices Fidel to come into terms with his own nature, especially when Fidel is in love with his own ward, Efren.
