A little girl was once told by her close friend that she would truly know who loved her by picking flowers and pulling off the petals... He gave her the seeds so she could grow them in her own garden. For years she would think of the new boy she liked and slowly pick off the petals.. "he loves me, he loves me not"
As she grew older and they relationship grew as well, she began to be jealous of girls he knew, of not hearing from him every day. She was afraid she was losing him.. So she went to her front yard, and picked her flower. "He loves me.. he loves me not.."
Seeing her putting her trust in a flower instead of their relationship the boy was hurt.. He left her... "He loves me not."
Later, the girl met another boy.. She saw how her flower was right.. Her last boyfriend had left her.. So the moment she was asked out, she went to her flower. "He loves me, he loves me not.."
This boy saw her as well, thinking it was strange how she didn't trust him... He left.. "He loves me not.."
She was hurt... The flowers were supposed to help her find love.. How could they always tell her no? In her anger, she picked a dozen more, going through each one.. Each ended in the same thing.. "He loves me not..."
By the time she got to the last flower, the girl was in tears.. She threw it down with only a few remaining petals and ran to her one friend.. The one who had given her the seeds in the beginning.. She was mad at him.. She blamed him for all of the heartbreak, for her flowers. Instead of being offended by ehr accusations, he held her close and told her everything would be aright...
Back in the yard, a soft breeze blew by, taking the last petals off the flower one by one.. The last one was the one she had been waiting for.. "He loves me."
