Although Meliah enters this marriage willingly and optimistically (since Beaux is attractive, young, and kind) she is distracted by Kaiva. The two, Kaiva and Meliah, have a secretive, dark, more flirtatious relationship while Beaux and Meliah's impending marriage is everything that is stable, warm, and secure.
