Cupid shot me in the eye, so they say love is blind
8.30 AM Ah, yes, completely forgot to do this yesterday. It's ok, though, I actually did stuff. I thought of the blog later in the night and right before I NEEDED to get ready for work. Which is when I'm typing this now. I need to get going, though, and pick out clothing. Seriously. Peace.
6.30 PM Alright, home from work. Going to have dinner soon. I swear, I will finish this blog. But I only worked today. Saw Martine a little, her parents apparently had an argument today so she came downtown. She needed to, but she chose that moment as a fantastic excuse. We shared my lunch break, and each had a smoke.
8.30 PM So yeah, had dinner just now, blah blah. Washed the dishes, wasted time. So yes, yesterday. It was great. I was able to get out of work early and head out with Martine, and we were given a ride by her father up to the arboretum. (Neither of us drive.) We walked. Stopped shortly after starting for a picnic. And continued to walk. Smoked a few times, walked a bit more. She had her camera with her, of course, and took pictures here and there. The latch is broken, so the back keeps popping open. If anyone knows anything about cameras, the back of a film camera opening is not a good thing, at all. It ruins the film. That made her pretty pissed.
We decided we didn't want to stay at the arboretum, and got to the road and walked ... again. We made it to the Nature Center after 20 or so minutes. We decided to sit for a little while, and found some steps that led down to a river. We spotted some swans swimming further upstream, and only watched, and we were both just enjoying the fantastic weather. Then a swan noticed us. It swam closer, and Martine was taking picture after picture. And then it came closer. And closer. It was actually a bit scary. Swans can be aggressive if they have a nest nearby. But it was fantastic at the same time. To see a creature up close that is so beautiful and elegant ... Breathtaking. Until it tries to eat your shoe. My shoe, to be specific.
My guess is that people oft feed the swans, and thought we would do the same. Noooo, my shoe is a far better option, apparently. Martine and I took that as our cue to leave. We wandered to the nature center and roamed around, just relaxing. After wards her father picked us up and we went back to her house.
You don't need to know the details of that, but yeah. It was a great day. If I were saying this in person, I'd be staring at my striped socks about now.
a simple moment
disturbed by time
yet i am glad
that you are mine
for we shall meet again
give a passing glance
wait for you to make a move
before i take a stance
for i want to be yours
and you to be mine
so we may never
run out of time
come with me
we can run away
and save the chores
for another day
