When I’ve suffered, but you stay here with me
When I’ve cried, but you made me laugh
When you’ve made me sad, but could make me smile again
When you’ve yelled at me, and I admitted fault
When I’m alone, and you come to me
When I should fear you, but I don’t
When I find you, and I wasn’t looking
When I listen, and hear you
Even if you aren’t there
Love is…
Missing you, even when you haven’t gone
Holding you, even when you aren’t there
Feeling you, even when I’m alone
Seeing you, even with my eyes closed
Laughing with you, even when we’re angry
Holding your hand, even when people stare
Trusting you, even when you put me in danger
Crying with you, even when you don’t shed tears
Because I know you must be in pain
Love is…
Suffering with you, because no one should suffer alone
Screaming out loud, because no one would understand
Scolding you, because you’re foolish
Scolding me, because I am too
Staying up late, because we can
Falling asleep, because we’re tired
Getting in trouble, because we’re stupid
Fighting for each other, because no one else will
And we know we have to

Breathing as one, and knowing we’re alive
Seeing each other, and feeling each other’s life
Holding hands, and not wanting to let go
Dreaming of you, and remembering the dream weeks later
Remembering you, and reminding how silly we were
Lying awake at night, and thinking only of you
Knowing the end is near, and still holding on
Staying with you, and refusing to let you go
