TANTRUM
A three year old boy with stubborn will, a cookie jar he did spy
Asked if he could have a treat. "No." was the Mother's reply
"Why don't you have a carrot stick, they are better for you instead."
"I want it!" yelled the boy. Threw himself to the ground and began to pound his head
With legs busy flailing the child still wailing "I want it. I want it now!"
The parents looked at one another with worried look upon their brow
"Should we stop him or let him continue? Surely pain will make him cease."
Just walked away shaking their heads hoping to find some peace
The tantrum raged on a few minutes more subsiding with whimpered "ow"
The boy arrived with tear stained face. "Can I have the carrot stick now?"

I know my poetry seems depressing but it is the best way to purge the bad emotions and keep my sanity. Most of these were written long ago.
