This debate material focuses mainly on the use of gaia, myspace, and facebook as methods of communication of phone and real life contact. The argument stands that people who spend more than 20 hours a week on these sites (basically more than 4-1/2 hours a day) tend to be much less social, even if they were very social beforehand. they tend to eat, sleep, and study alone more often. They also tend to have personal, real life relationships less, and eventually rely on total strangers for interpersonal fulfillment. i would enjoy your thoughts on this. Does internet communication actually lead to alienation of humanity?
