Wow, it's been a while since I've made an entry here. Well, nobody really reads this anyway, so it doesn't really matter if I update or not. BUT since I might have a stalker (you never know!) I might as well keep him/her/them/it updated.
I had an MRI and it showed two herniated discs, one of them being mostly on the right side, explaining the pain in my right leg.
At the beginning of April I had my first epidural injection. It wasn't as scary or painful as I thought.
It worked amazingly for a few weeks. I was able to sleep through the night, I had no pain, and it was amazing.
But then a guy came in to do a presentation in gym class and while we were being instructed to do some exercises, I didn't want to be the odd one out, so I participated. I should have stayed the odd one.
The pain slowly came back, and I went to my neurologist again. He forbade me from spinning a flag for the next six months at least. So for this marching band season I'm in the pit, playing the concert bass drum, cymbals, and triangle. Whoo hoo.
Around the end of June, I had my second injection. This one was a bit painful, but the effects were lasting.
But now here it is, beginning of August, and the pain is coming back. I've been waking up at odd hours to walk around and take some painkillers (no Vikoden though, hooray!) before going back to bed.
I'm seeing the doctor next week, and hopefully the third time will be the charm. Hopefully he'll let there be a third time. The injections have worked pretty well; a lot of people only feel the effects for a few days, and some (like my dad) not at all.
But if this third injection doesn't work, then I might be facing surgery.
I know that this injection will work though. Because I'm me. And I'm invincible.
As for other updates, I'm about 2/3 of the way through my first draft of my book.
Also, my older horse died a few weeks ago, and soon we'll be finding a home for the younger one. Should I keep my name as Horse lady? I don't know. For now I will. It might change later.
That's all for today. This is Horse lady, signing out.!
