I was talking to one of my closest friends, Eryen, and I realized that we were both in relationships that were criticized by society. This is where we got the idea for a book.
A lot of people believe they know what love is. They all have come up with a definition to prove this. They're all wrong. Love only has one definition: LOVE. That's just it. This is the only word that is defined by its own word. Love is deeper than what everyone thinks. Its just liking the person; love is about seeing their soul, and falling in love with that. Love also transcends anything- whether it be sex, age, distance, ethnics, religion, etc.
For example, homosexual couples. They know what love is, because they've fallen in love with the soul harbored in the body. They go through all the criticism and hatred just to be with whom they love.
Another example is Eryen. She's in love with a man who is 21, and lives MA. They make their relationship work, even with all the s**t she deals with, and that he might also be dealing with. Once again, love.
And me. I'm madly and deeply in love with Derrick, my half-black boyfriend. I know that him and I will have to go through all petty bullshit of racism, but we're both willing to. We have a connection with the heart- with the soul.
So, there you go. That's the jest of the book. Its about what love really is.
Its about how everyone needs to shut the ******** up about what they think love is, and see that its just love.
And that age, race, religion, etc. doesn't effect anything. Deep down inside, we're all the same. We all have the same heart that beats with nearly the same beat; we all have white bones; pink muscles; red blood.
Appearance doesn't effect love.

I'm in love with Travis, who is my boyfriend. I know that our relationship is considered taboo and illegal, but how can you do that to love? Love doesn't know any boundaries. To bound who you can love, how can we find them? I'm glad I found Travis. We've been together almost six months and we're still going strong. Sure, we've had our ups and downs, but we've learned from them. I'm hoping to marry Travis and have his children. Even if I am twenty when that happens, how can age these things? I'm sick of people saying it's wrong, it's not! Travis and I have something so much deeper than I "I think you're hot". No, if it were like that, we wouldn't have lasted so long. Travis is not a creep, if he were, I don't think we'd still be together. And he wouldn't offer to wait for us to make love until after marriage!
Same goes for Katie's relationship with Derrick. I've read what he's written to her, I can tell that he's in love with her and she's in love with him. They read each other like a book and love each other, not for their appearance only, but for their souls and their hearts.
People need to understand, love is love. And it cannot be defined otherwise. Love cannot be bound and held back as it has been. Katie and I, we're starting a revolution. We're gonna change how society looks at things.
People are changing, society is ever evolving. Let go of your Puritan values! Let go of tradition!
