Scene 1
11:00 in the morning, the woman wakes up slowly. She is a petite black woman with long hair and pretty eyes. She is young for her age. She is wearing a long white nightgown that reaches to her shins.
She’s confused as she woke up on her husband’s side of the bed. She shrugs it off, thinking that they must have swapped sides during the night. She notices a lump shaped like a person beside her and she pats it gently. The person in the bed’s face has been covered up by the blanket and a small tuft of hair is peaking out from underneath the covers. “Good morning, sleepyhead,” she says, pulling the covers off her. She crawls out the bed and opens the curtains, revealing a beautiful day outside.
“Oh, today is going to be gorgeous!” she exclaims excitedly. She turns around and walks over towards her robe on the chair. The phone in the bedroom starts ringing.
She pulls the robe over her shoulders and fixes her hair. The phone keeps ringing and she’s staring at her ‘husband’ in the bed.
“Oh, I’ll just let the answering machine get it,” she says quietly, not wanting to disturb her husband with her loud voice.
The phone rings for the last time and the answering machine picks up.
Woman’s voice: “Hey everyone, you’ve called the Wilson home. This is Diana-“
Man’s voice: “And this is Michael Wilson-“
Child’s voice: “And this is Daryll Wilson-“
All together: “Please leave a message! sounds of laughter in the background”
Another woman’s voice is recorded by the answering machine. “HEY DIANA! WHAT’S UP! This is Mimi, you should know who I am by now! How are you, baby? It’s been two months since we’ve spoken to each other! Not since Daryll die….*awkward pause* Well, anyways, you and me, girl! We’re going downtown and spend the entire night at the casino tonight! I heard that the band you love so much is going to play. I am dragging you there. Ciao Diana.”
Diana laughs softly and shakes her head as she starts to leave the room. “Mimi... She never quite gives up, does she?” she says, looking at the answering machine for the last time with a pensive look on her face.
She exits the room and proceeds to walk down the hallway. The camera pulls out and there is an arm hanging from the bed. The arm has been sliced down the underside with a knife and a small puddle of blood can be seen underneath. But the arm is at an angle where Diana couldn’t see it unless she moves to the other side of the bed.

Scene 2
As Diana walks down the hallway, she halts suddenly when the door next to her suddenly creaks open. The letters on the door spell DARYLL in bright colors. She frowns and turns her body towards the door.
“I could have sworn that the door was closed. We never open the door anymore…not since…” she pauses and shakes her head quickly.
As she approaches the door, she sees the floor littered with toys that have not been moved for quite some time. The small bed is still unmade and there is a thin layer of dust in the room. There is a stuffed bear with patches and faded as if someone has loved the toy too much.
“Daryll,” she whispers, tears coming to her eyes as she remembers what happened that night.
End of Scene 2

Scene 3 FLASH BACK SCENE
We see two people driving in the car. The woman is Diana and the child is Daryll. They are driving home from the daycare center and Daryll is upset that he left his favorite bear at the center.
“Mommy, please! I can’t sleep without Gunn!” he whines, tears threatening to spill out of his eyes.
The mother is tired, she had a long day at work where she is a secretary for a small law company. “Daryll, hunny, please! Mommy’s very tired right now and frustrated. You should have grabbed the bear when you left!”
Daryll gives a soft whimper and starts crying loudly. “BUT MOMMY! I NEED GUNN! PLEASE! GO BACK AND GET HIM, PLEASE!”
Diana turns her head sharply and she is about 50 meters away from the stop sign. “Dammit Daryll! I can’t go back. We are about 10 minutes from home. You’ll get him tomorrow! Now stop crying, RIGHT NOW!”
She slows down at the stop sign and takes a deep breath. “Baby, I…” she stops as she hears whimpering and sniffling from the backseat.
Daryll wipes his eyes and shakes his head. “I hate you, Mommy,” he whispers, looking out the window.
Diana doesn’t say anything as her face shows her hurt. She hears the thunder in the background and sees dark clouds behind her in the mirror. “Looks like a storm’s rolling in,” she says, trying to make the mood lighten up.
She drives forward and doesn’t see a car moving fast towards the car.
The camera goes black, but we can hear a loud crash, a woman’s scream, a boy screaming for his Mommy and the rain starting to fall with the thunder rolling in.
The noises fade and we hear a soft whisper from Diana, “I’m sorry…I’m so sorry….please God…not my son. Don’t take my son…I’m sorry.”

End of Scene 3
Scene 4
Diana is still lingering in the doorway to her son’s room. She looks at the floor, still crying. She stares for a few moments before noticing that there is two sets of footprints in the dust. One of them looks like an adult’s and the other is a child’s footprints.
“What in the world is going on?” she mutters, taking a step back. As soon as she leans against her back foot, there is the sound of child like laughter filling the room. Diana looks scared and confused for a moment. She frantically searches the room. Her eyes are suddenly drawn to a figure standing in the middle of the room. No one had been there a moment ago.

The figure is that of a small boy and he is holding the stuffed bear that was on the bed. The child is thin with sunken in eyes. His body looks mangled, blood and open wounds on the boy’s flesh. The boy looks oddly familiar to her.
Diana panics and quickly closes the door with a small yelp. Her heart is beating fast, her eyes are wide with fear, and her breathing has elevated. She can still see the image of the boy in her head. Suddenly it dawns on her. She knows who that boy is.
“Daryll,” she whispers. She slowly opens the door, half of her wanting Daryll to be there and the other half wanting her to be slightly insane. She peers through the crack in the door and looks into the room. It’s empty. The child is gone and the dust on the floor where the boy was standing isn’t disturbed.

She gives a sigh of relief which sounds forced to her. The look on her face is disappointment and sadness. “Must have been my imagination,” she says, forcing a laugh. She quickly shuts the door and begins to walk down the hall. She doesn’t see the bear that was on the floor, staring at her with button eyes.

End of Scene 4
Scene 5
Diana reaches the bathroom and closes the door. She looks at her reflection. The reflection looks back and you can see the tiredness and depression on her face. With a grunt, she stretches, feeling the tension leave her body momentarily. She finishes her stretch and then points at her reflection. “Now look here, girl! You are going to have a good day. You are going to have a cup of coffee, some fruit, and then you are going to have a good day, do I make myself clear?” she lectures sternly at herself.

Feeling foolish as she gives a nod, she grins in satisfaction. “There, that wasn’t so bad now was it?” She turns around and opens the shower door, turning the knob for the water. She places her hand under the water and waits for it to heat up.

Something doesn’t feel right behind her. Almost compelled, she turns her head towards the mirror and screams in horror. Daryll (Dead Daryll) was staring right back at her from the left side of the mirror. She turns to her right and sees that no one is there. She breathes heavily and turns back around towards the mirror. There is no one but herself staring at her.

She turns on the sink and splashes water on her face repeatedly, as if to wake herself up. She lifts her face and closes her eyes, meditating hard as if to keep her sanity “It’s nothing but bad images. The doctor said that something like this would happen. It’s nothing to worry about. Daryll is gone…he’s in a better place. He’s with the Lord now. He’s not here haunting me. He’s not here haunting me. He’s not haunting and there is no such thing as ghost. There’s no such thing as ghosts. There’s no such thing has ghosts.”

She sounds unconvincing as she repeats her mantra several times. Feeling herself calming down, she opens her eyes and sees a fogged up mirror. The water was still running and it was really hot. She gave a smile and nodded. “See?” she says to herself as she reaches for a towel. “Nothing to worry about.” She uses the towel to wipe away the fog. When she finishes, she takes a step back to look at mirror.

End of Scene 5

Scene 6
She screams louder than before. The mirror shows her reflection, but it’s a horrific image to her.
Diana in the reflection has blood on her white nightgown, the wrists had been slashed violently. Her eyes were empty and void of life, her hair was a mess and covered with blood, her nightgown was ripped in several places.
Diana screamed and screamed for a long time as she begins to touch her body for wounds. She glances down at her wrists…nothing is there. She tugs her nightgown out to see if there was blood. There’s nothing there. She touches her face and doesn’t feel anything wet on her face.

The ghost in the reflection is mimicking her moves exactly as she was. She doesn’t understand what is going on. Suddenly, her reflection moves on it’s on. One of the dark slashed wrist suddenly point to Diana in a movement that seemed inhuman.
The real Diana flinches and covers her face with her arms, sobbing for God to save her. She waited for several minutes for something to happen. Nothing does. She slowly puts her arms down and stare at her reflection. The ghost is still there.
She watches with horror as the ghost in the mirror moves her arm and points down the hall towards the Diana’s bedroom. She points with enthusiasm as if to make Diana to move towards the bedroom.
Diana needs no further instruction as she suddenly races down the hall, screaming for her husband.
“MICHAEL! MICHAEL! THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE MIRROR MICHAEL!” She screams, pushing open the door. The human shaped lump is still there. She walks over to her husband’s side of the bed (the side she woke up on) and crawls on the bed. “Michael! How the hell can you still be sleeping? Wake up! WAKE UP!”
Her yells are getting erratic and frantic as she shakes the shoulder harshly.

She loses her patience and pulls the covers back harshly. She stares at the lump in her bed and lets out a high pitched terrified scream.

The body in the bed is not her husband…but her. One arm is hanging off the bed and the wrists had been slashed violently. Blood had spattered the nightgown and her eyes were wide open and staring at the ceiling. She stares at the blood on the bed and blanket. It hadn’t been there in the morning when she woke up. She turns towards the mirror in the bedroom and notices with horror that her body looks exactly like the body in the bed. She collapses on the floor, weeping hysterically as she hugs herself. “Oh God. Oh God. Oh God…help me. Oh my God…” she whispers, shaking hard.
Something white catches her eye under the bed and she reaches under slowly to get it. She pulls out an envelope with her writing on it.
“To my dearest husband,” she reads aloud. She opens the envelope and begins to read silently to herself
End of scene 6

Scene 7
The scene changes with Diana sitting on the porch swing, swinging softly. She still has the marks on her wrists where she cut herself. She is barefoot and her hair is blowing softly in the wind yet there is no wind. Tears are falling slowly out of her eyes as she stares at the front yard.

A car pulls up in the driveway and Michael gets out of the car, carrying some groceries that he had to pick up. He looks at the house, smiling. His eyes are drawn to the moving swing for a moment or two before he begins to walk back up to the house. He gets the house keys out of his pocket and opens the door. “Diana! I’m home. I got a surprise for you. The Wickets down the street had some fresh tomatoes growing in and thought you might like some.” He removes his shoes as he enters the house.

Diana follows the movements of her husband as watches him walk towards the house. She is silent, though she is hoping that he will see her. That this was just a bad dream. When her husband walks past her, the tears fall faster as realization sets in. She was really dead.

A little boy’s hand towards her off screen and touches her shoulder. “Mommy? It’s time to go,” the boy says. The hand is held out to her, expecting her to grab on. Diana hesitates for a moment then takes her son’s hand.
End of Scene 7

Scene 8
The camera follows him as he walks through the house and towards the bedroom. He opens the bedroom door and the camera is positioned just behind him. When he enters the room, he sees his wife on the bed, though the camera can’t see the body at all. He drops the groceries on the floor and lets out a terrifying scream. The door is slammed shut on the camera and we hear him running towards the bed, sobbing incoherent words that sound like “Oh God, please no! Please don’t do this! Diana! DIANA!”

The camera returns to the front porch swing where the Diana was once sitting. It is still moving slowly, but the swing is empty. Off in the distance, you hear the thunder and a little boy’s voice saying, “Looks like a storm is rolling in.”

End of Scene 8

Credits
As the credits fall, you hear the sirens of ambulances and police cars off in a distance. They seem to get louder and louder until the sounds of the engines are shut off. You hear police talking but you can only make out the words “Diana Wilson….multiple cuts…wrist..suicide…”
The last words you hear are from a police officer saying “Damn shame.”
