She was dying. Her cold emerald eyes already seemed lifeless, her long slender fingers were couted with blood that was not her own. She was dying, but she went down with a heck of a fight. Her bloodied fingers curled into a fist and she smiled, a cold, hard smile that was more of a smirk than anything. "You sick b*****d." She turned her head to the side and looked at the man that lay next to her. It was his blood that covered her hands. Her red hair was fanned around her face as she lay on the cold cement ground. The man chuckled, "What's wrong, Abby? You pissy 'cuz things didn't go as you wanted it to?" The woman- Abby- scoffed, "That's Princess Abigail to you, I may be dying, but I am still your superior." "Yeah, you may be dying but you still have that attitude of yours, Princess Abigail." She glared at him, "Better yet, don't say my name, I'd prefer it if someone as hideous as yourself didn't." He growled, "Whatever, Princess, but you can't always get what you want." "I'm dying! I should be allowed to get what I want!" As if to prove that she was,in fact, dying, she coughed up some blood. "Well, that's not my fault, and you forget I'm dying too." She rose a delicate eyebrow, "Actually, it is your fault that I'm going to die. You're my soon to be killer."She paused for a moment then added, "It's actually easy to forget you're dying. I'm pretty happy that I'm the reason, too." He laughed, "Same old Abby." "Don't say my name as though we are close!" "But we were! We were dating remember?" "Keyword: 'Were' " "Aww, don't be like that!" “Would you care to enlighten me as to what I’m being?” The man didn’t answer her question, instead he began to cough wildly. “Christopher?” Her voice sounded frightened, “Christopher, are you dying?” “Yeah…, I think …., so.” He managed between coughs. Tears formed in Abby’s eyes, “Christopher, I’m supposed to die first, you’re supposed to be last, and you’re gonna die heartbroken! I had it all planned out! So don’t you dare die first.” “Perfidy.” Were his words before all was silent. ‘Perfidy?’ What kind of last word is that? What does it mean? “Christopher, don’t leave me.” She whimpered. But he did. He had betrayed her and tried to kill her. But she still loved him. He left her. She is heartbroken, but still loves him with all her scarred heart. And when Death came, she welcomed it. But Death left her too. Leaving her alive in a hospital, a nurse asking her what she wants. “Princess Abigail? Do you need anything? What do you want? I will bring it.” Abby looked at the nurse, her cold emerald eyes stared into frightened sapphire eyes. ‘Christopher,’ she thought desperately, ‘I want Christopher.’ But when her lips moved, what she said was, “A dictionary.”
