-A YEAR LATER: Age 7-

At school during lunch, Shinobu and Mizuki were sitting near each other. It was unknown to Mizuki that Takeshi had left. She glanced around.
"Is something wrong?" Shinobu asked. Mizuki turned to look at Shinobu.
"I'm looking for Take-kun..." She said.
"Ah.. He didn't tell you?"
Mizuki tilted her head, confused. "Tell me what?"
Shinobu seemed hesitant for a moment as he took a moment to think.
Mizuki nudged Shinobu, a bit annoyed. "Shin-kun, tell me!" She whined.
He patted her hand, getting her to calm down. "Alright, alright. Calm down, I'll tell you." He said, coming to a mental decision. "Don't panic when I tell you, though, okay?"
Mizuki nodded as she grinned, releasing his arm.
"Takeshi had to move to New York. It's only temporary, so he'll be back soon." He explained. Mizuki was silent. Her smile was... gone. "I.. see." She said. Shinobu seemed hurt that she was suddenly quiet, but he put up with it. "It'll be fine, Aichi*." He said, "He'll be back before you know it." Mizuki brought up a not-so-obvious fake smile and nodded. "I know that. Thanks, Shin-kun." She said. She couldn't take it anymore...

AFTER SCHOOL

As soon as Mizuki got home, Shinobu had went home, convinced that she'd be okay and didn't need comforting. Mizuki glanced out her bedroom window. What if Shinobu was next to leave her? She turned her head, looking at an old portrait of the four of them smiling altogether. She couldn't bear to lose everyone... She rushed out the house with her shoes on and went on her way to her aunt's house...

-The next day at lunch time-

Mizuki sat at a completely different table, eating her bentou** alone. Shinobu found her and sat down. "Aichi, why are you sitting here alone?" He asked her. Mizuki looked up from her food and blinked her eyes at him. "Um.. Do I know you?" She asked. Now it was his turn to blink his eyes in surprise. "Yeah. Are you joking?" He asked. Mizuki shook her head slowly. "Gomen... But I don't know you." She said. Shinobu got up slowly, carefully hiding his shocked, hurt feelings. "I see. Sorry for bothering you. I got the wrong person." He said, walking away from bewildered Mizuki.

*Aichi - Mizuki's last name. It is customary for one to call another by their last name. Lovers or close friends go for the first names.
**Bentou - Boxed lunch
