How to estimate price! I never post prices because I don't want to discourage anyone from making an offer. My prices vary based on how challenging the pic is, and various details, as well as who is commissioning. I may make exceptions, so don't hesitate to PM me.
I will list some of the things that make it more pricey. the amount of '+'s at the beginning show about how much it adds.
+An OC (interpreting details and trying to make your words into characters can sometimes be difficult)
+More than one character (it's more work)
++Complicated or extremely specific pose (Playing twister is a lot harder on paper than in real life >< wink
++Fanart (I generally don't like doing fanart, so the added price is really just to make people less likely to request it ^-^)
+++A close deadline (if you need the pic before a certain date, I may have to put some other commissions aside for a time, and I must apologize to those people and reset their time estimate and sometimes even lower their price estimate to make up for the extra wait. I would suggest just commissioning early)
+++Backgrounds (unless it's really simple, or just a splash of color/detail behind the character, backgrounds are just so much work. The more specific the background, the more expensive.)
Coloring, this deserves it's own little section. The farther I go, the more expensive it is.
-lineart is the least expensive, the lines will be clean and drawn in either paint tool SAI, or illustrator. Because they are vector, I can make them any size, so multiple copies at different sizes are free.
-flat colors is the next step up. It's just colors, no real shading.
-cell shading is a little more expensive. The pic in my sig is cell-shaded.
-full Rasterization is the most expensive. It the fully shaded, blended, etc. The whole shibang.
The size also gets a section. More expensive as you scroll down, I have to add more detail and deal with more lagg the farther you go. If you want a custom size, send me the pixel, cm or inch size and I will estimate down to the nearest size for price.
-avatars, these little pics are the things next to your comments, like on someone's profile.
-siggies, a little bigger, and a lot longer than an avatar, for at the end of your comments ^-^
-postcard size
-half sheet size (8 1/2inches by 5 1/2 inches) similar to postcard, but wider
-screen sizes (please tell me your screen size or I will use the average 1024x768. If you don't know your screen size and want a wallpaper from me, tell me in the PM)
-letter size (normal comp. paper)
-tabloid size (newspaper length, comp paper width)
-tabloid spread size (newspaper length and the 2-page width)
-larger, maximum is 3000x3000pixels
Those things give you an idea on how I build up the price. It's not clear cut, though. I don't take a calculator and add them up, I just am influenced by these things.
