You see, My Friend,
(The frail old lady said one day)
I used to be
That Girl
The one that frolics through the flowers
Laughs in the wind
Finds happiness in all.
Well
(said her young friend)
what happened?
Why are you not
That Girl?
Now you never frolic
Tell me why.
Well, my child
(The Lady said)
Life happened.
Life came knocking on my door
It would not let me leave it outside.
But now I am happy.
Because I have you.
You to continue
Being That Girl.
So go, my child,
frolic in the flowery fields.
Laugh in the wind that tickles you
and invites you to play.
Find happiness in everything that comes to you.
For life takes courage
and courage comes from living.
So live now, and find that courage.
Here, take this
(The old lady said
as she handed the girl a golden locket
from her own neck)
for it holds the secrets
To living The Life Of Courage.
It will not wait,
and you must seize it, grab it while you can.
It will have many twists and turns
that you must navigate yourself.
You will find friends,
Enemies,
And those who will help you on this perilous journey.
What do you mean?
(asked the girl
as she accepted the locket)
What "Perilous journey?"
What must I do?
But ah,
(said the frail woman)
That I cannot tell.
You will find out.
With help from the Locket
And those around you.
(and with that,
the woman disappeared.)
