This was a dream I had. Well, it was more of a nightmare. I decide to write it down like a story. I tried to write it as clear as possible but it's hard to do so when dreams sometimes don't make sense. After all, dreams are basically hazy, weird and sometimes confusing.

I don't know why I'm here but it felt like I had a purpose. I was here for a reason that I couldn't explain it. I was in my home, in the entrance way, looking up at the stairs and then down the hall. The lights were off but strangely I could make out a shape in the dark hallway. A child, a boy, stood close to the basement door staring at me.
He was only a shadow but I could still see him.
You mustn't be here. Leave. You must leave now!
The child said, his voice echoing in my head loud and clear.
That was when I understood why I was there. I was trying to save the boy from something. I walked closer to him, reaching out. I wanted to bring him into the light, the moon light but he took a step back becoming scared. He flicker a bit, repeating his message faster before a loud thump came from the stairs.
Panic seemed to have filled my system. I was lost, unsure of what to do. I turned back to the boy but he was gone. The darkness grew more, as though it was becoming alive. I felt it...evil, but I wasn't afraid of it because whatever was upstairs was much worst.
That was when the door behind me slammed open. A man was standing there, cloaked in black with a wide brim hat hiding his face. His gloved hand held onto a stake and he turned to me, finally realize I was standing there.
"Why are you here? You're not ready yet. You have to get out now." he whispered, pushing me out the door. He walked further inside, intending to walk up the stairs to face whatever danger lurked up there. Noises, I heard then up there. It was getting louder and suddenly was in front of him.
I scream...or was it the creature that screamed? I wasn't sure but it attacked him and the door slammed shut, and some sort of force field pushed me across the street. I heard the screams from within the home, or what use to me my home.
I cried, shaking in shock. I wasn't sure what to think. My mind was completely blank but instincts took over and I found myself in the middle of a circle made of salt. An old woman appeared. She was in rags and looked almost like a gypsy.
"The creature wants you. You must wait until you're ready. You cannot run from it, it will find you. Stay." she rasped, handing me a small book.
The small brown book she handled me had no title. I opened it and saw that it was hand written and written in a strange language. For some strange reason I was able to understand it, and my body relaxed. It was a book that contains spells, rituals, information and such that could help me.
I looked up to thank the old woman but she was gone. I was alone again, holding the book close to me. I knew I must stay awake until the sun rise. I cannot fall asleep. I mustn't...and I didn't dare thing of why I couldn't. It was just something that I knew I must do.
I stared out across the street, warily looking at the house. It looked normal but I knew not to be fooled with its appearance. I don't how long I spent staring at it but the next thing I remember was lying on the cold ground and getting up. The sun was coming up but I realize that I fell asleep. I quickly looked around, checking to see if the circle of salt was disturbed but I couldn't. Not when I saw the creature above me grinning in glee. I went to grab my stake but it grabs my neck. I tried to breath but I couldn't do anything. I was so helpless and it jumped on me, biting my neck. I felt pain, my blood spilling. It clawed at me, tearing my skin as I struggle to escape.
I was growing weaker. It was my end. Everything around me became foggy in black. The only clear thing in my mind was the creature. It was so human looking but yet hideous with its hungry.
I stopped fighting and that was when I woke up.
It was all a dream. I was surprise that I dreamt of something like that. Was it a nightmare? I wasn't sure because I haven't had one in such a long time. I breathe in relief, relaxing my tense muscles. It felt so real. That dream seemed to have exhausted me or maybe it was my lack of sleep?
It was so strange. And what disturbed me the most was that the areas the creature torn into me was tingling. Is it normal for my body to feel something in a dream when it is my mind that takes me there? Maybe, but that was the first time it ever happen to me.
