"Twas quite a journey, spanning many a moon." smiles to himself, "Even saw a blue moon once...anyways, of note there were only a couple lands along thee path. Now, these woods were magical, no other reason could explain their presence whereas other lands with trees were wilted an' barren. Stranger yet, was a purple haze emanating from all thee leaves. Walking into the border twilight immediately fell upon me, however stepping back the land was covered in the sickly pale light of the eclipse, after stepping back and forth for a bit, I figured it must be some enchantment upon the woods. It was here that I met the first of my companions upon the quest. A was suddenly upon me, so great that I was bound to the ground. From one of thee leaves a fey appeared, she was lovely...her snow-white hair down to her back, translucent blue wings and pale flesh, though she stood mayhaps three feet. She began making curious gestures, and in my bafflement she glared at me, upon then I realized she was mute. I stated that I meant no harm upon her woods and was seeking the star. With a penetrating glare my mind felt invaded and the feeling passed. Twas then that the burden lifted, I bid her thank you and began traveling however she started flitting along beside me, after a yarn of a few hours we developed a communication whereas I would form a question in my head and she would answer, as the guardian of the woods she sought to end the threat and would aid me in this task...the denizens of thee forest let us be so passage was quick." Thee longest part of the journey, was trekking across a grand stretch of a desert...thankfully River-twas the name of our fey friend- could conjure water, otherwise thee desert would have consumed us as it did the remnants of what appeared to be the leftovers of an age o' elves...for the desert to be here must have been many ages ago. It gave me a sense of foreboding, wondering if this is the end for all, and gave me a sense of insignificance. Luckily the only other form of life we saw was a massive wurm in the distance, in my prayers I was thankful it didn't track us down.
Upon a frigid landscape, there stood a massive tree so large your village here could fit within its trunk. A dim glow escaped from the tree, primarily from a large whole, lining the tree with cracks giving it an arcane appearance. Upon arriving we noticed the others, a booming voice came upon as the two of us came beneath the tree, "Our final guests have arrived, the plan for the assault can be written." Soon we acquainted ourselves with one another, there were but 11 of us. Bore you I will not with specifics but a brief introduction would be in order; River and I you know already, the other nine were, Kel-Tor a one-eyed crippled old man, quick as lightning with his 2-bladed sword, Shadowknife a halfling rouge who could make use of anything, Archbishop Praz an eldarly priest who was the last of his order, Xarfax a paladin of most note however was that he carried in him the blood o' a silver dragon, Xinthos a dark one-armed elven sorcerer who sought nothing but the increase of his own power, Lily Dreamweaver a young human lass who followed thee path of a bard, Xikzrakzykz a curious kobold with a courageous heart wielding primitive magics, An ent bearing the name Treesinger joined us as well though he was withering like the rest of the land he shared with us long forgotten wisdom, most fearsome of all though was a spellsword his name long forgotten consuming light in his presense he was a necessary evil for he was a champion of darkness sworn to end the universe itself...
"The night is long my children, tis time to rest and finish the yarn upon next sundown"
