Long ago, elves and humans were able to live together peacefully. Where there were differences, the two races still managed to coexist in harmony.
One day, a young elf went into the forest to play his flute. As he played, the animals would dance, and the flowers would sway, and the entire forest would be filled with happiness.
The young elf stopped his playing when a young fawn suddenly stumbled into the forest clearing, an arrow protruding from her hind leg. A hunter emerged soon after her, aiming his bow at the fawn.
The young elf boy asked the hunter "What are you doing?", to which the hunter replied "I'm merely catching food for my hungry family."
The young elf boy began to play his flute just then, and apples began to fall from the trees and berries from the bushes.
The young elf boy then said to the hunter "Help yourself. They are a gift of Nega-God. Please do not harm the animals; they are my friends."
The hunter thanked the young elf and together they tended the fawn's wound. Just then, the fawn rose up on her hind legs and began to form into a young girl.
She turned to the two of them and spoke. "Thank you, kind Hunter for not killing me. Thank you, kind Elf for feeding the man and looking out for the animal-kind and the nymphs and for life itself."
The young elf boy smiled and said to the fawn "No, do not thank me. We owe our thanks to the Creator and Mother Earth who look after their children."
So that night the elf and the fawn joined the hunter and his family to take part in the bountiful meal given to them from the Mother Earth herself.
