yup, you heard it here folks. My audition for the school musical is tomorrow!! I'm so nervous!!! GAH, stupid butterflies!!!! I didn't find out until just today...so I'm not very well prepared. All we have to do is stand in front of the class and sing a song...I'm still debating on what song I should sing...I have 3 choices to choose from and i feel confident in doing all of them. but the point of the tryouts aren't to evaluate whether or not you have a good voice, but to determine your range and whether you can hold pitch etc. etc. blah choir stuff blah.
My first choice is the solo piece that I did last year for...well..solos. It's called "The Water Is Wide" And I felt that I did really good last year, and I know it by heart and can hit all the pitches perfect. The range is absolutely perfect for me also...But I think that it's not exactly what they're looking for...the songs for the musical are more upbeat and exciting...unlike my slow, kinda sad song.
My second choice is a pop song. Called "Some Kind of Miracle" By Kelly Clarkson ( you may or may not have heard of it) I absolutely love this song. It's really good, the vocal range varies a ton which is just perfect to show off how high and low I can really go. It's a mix of happy and upbeat to sad and lonely. My only problem with this one is one part in the song gets pretty high, I don't have a problem hitting it...it's just that my vocal cords tighten and it doesn't sound as good (the doctor actually told me that this was caused by my tonsils!!!! Stupid ******** tonsils I hate you!!!!!!!!!!!!)
My third and final choice is "Low" Also by Kelly Clarkson ( I can match my voice to fit hers perfectly :nod: ) This is also a great song ( I have to go back and check that it doesn't have any cuss words or anything inappropriate for school) But like I said, it's also a perfect match for my vocal range. But once again...my trouble with this song is my vocal cords tightening up. I'm not exactly sure that my tonsils will be getting removed before the musical is...but i'm hoping so!
I plan on recording myself singing all three of these songs and going back and listening to them to decide whether or not I want to sing any of them.
Ok. so today school kinda really sucked big ******** donkey balls. I didn't get to sleep til 4 a.m. this morning (yea...thanks Isaac!) And I had to wake up at 7 a.m. DX so I fell asleep during my first three classes and was in a grumpy mood lol XD. Then I got in a fight with one of my friends because she was being ******** retarded!!!!!! Gah, this girl pisses me off so bad!! She's got this guy and she constantly shows him off and then she's trying to get in fights with him...idk y...she's just stupid. She'll deliberately say stuff that she knows is going to piss him off and then cry about it when he's ******** stupid!! She also likes to claim she's "sick" every three days...she skips school half the time and usualy leaves early...ugh...that's just ******** stupid and it's going to come back and bite her in the a** when it comes to test time or other important stuff...
Um...yea...I think that that may be all for tonight sweatdrop
