Simple Words
If "I love you" are just words,
why do they contain such power?
Instilling truth, lies, promises, so softly spoken
hidden in those three words.
Pain, pleasure, the beauty she radiates when
in her eyes spark the flames that have been
smoldering in the chambers of her secret heart
It tears her apart when he turns away
Refused to listen when she asked him to stay
Cold hearted children whom hide from the flame
Lost souls of torment search for someone to blame
Such small things always seem to make the biggest differences
Staring in my direction; nameless, faceless
He can't be replaced when she stands o'er hollowed ground
with nothing left to sing to but the sound of her tears falling
never ceasing, never stalling
Good-bye, dear heart, parting for a world that
only sees but half of who I am.
Never again.
