Micheal looked at Erin, then at me. He looked terrified, like he was about to fall apart. Erin kept his crooked grin on his face, a smile that brought fright to students at the school. This was my first time seeing how Erin dealt with people like Micheal. I was eager, too eager. Erin turned his head to see the look on my face, which pleased him.
"Here, Austin," he said, putting something in my hand, "You can go ahead and take care of his idiot."
I felt around the thing in my hand. There was a handle that I gripped, and a trigger that I put my finger on. I slowly looked down to see what I expected was in my hand.
A gun. A real gun was in my hand. I could tell it was real, my dad used to have one just like it. Now I knew why Micheal was so scared. This was the way Erin was talking about.
I felt the fright emerse my face. My eyes met Micheal's. They had the same emotion as mine. The horrified eyes kept flickering from mine to the gun in my hand.
"C'mon Austin. Watcha waitin for?" Erin asked, frowning.
"Erin... I can't... I won't..." I tried to say.
He just chuckled, "The first time you do it, it's scary. You get used to it."
No! I can't do this! My hands started to tremble. Micheal started inching towards to the school's doubled doors. I felt so bad for him. I felt like falling apart. I couldn't do this, not ever, Madeline would be scared of me... just like everyone else. I didn't want the only sensible person in my life to feel fright towards me.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, I made up my mind.
"Micheal, run!" I yelled.
He took my comand quickly, and was outside in a second.
"Austin! What the ******** is wrong with you?!" yelled Erin, running after Micheal. He pulled out something from his pocket, and my eyes widened as I noticed it was the same thing that was in my hand. I stood still as I watched Erin run out the double doors. Everything seemed to go in slow motion. After the doors closed, I heard three loud bangs.
I dropped the gun and ran as fast as I could outside. I looked around to find Erin running in my direction. And the most terrifying thing I saw was Micheal's body, motionless and destroyed, bleeding on the ground.
