Why does it seem that the only people who can ever make any possible sense are those who have no relation to me at all? My family is all compromised of idiots who couldn't even have one decent conversation if their life depended on it. If it is spoken it must always end in yelling. There is no exception to this rule it seems. There is no discussion. There is arguments. There is no compromise. There is only "my way." What the hell is wrong with them all!
Here's a question for the day: why must conversation always turn in to politics. Damn that poison which infects even the most peaceful of events. Add that with a bunch of hot-headed, opinionated morons and you've got yourself something real ugly. This is what I have to witness because my father has to bring us to some party with the family and then decide to go at it with my uncle and cousins...
This may be a gross generalization here, but the most intelligent people I've met seem to avoid talking about politics. Even as I write that, I know of some exceptions, but these exceptions are a minority when it comes to the idiots that spew out there political ideas.
I feel sorry for my younger siblings. I'm almost out of this mad house, but they've got a long while to go.

I'm not a good listener.
Political debates with people are generally what the smartest people try to avoid because the informed and the uninformed and the strange will only end up creating unnecessary conflict. And why be more harm than good in the world with more conflict when you're already busy as hell with your own life? I generally used to talk about politics all the time until I heard some ridiculous stuff about Obama and why my classmates' families refused to vote for him.
I wasn't campaigning or anything, it all just started with the proverbial question. "Who are you hoping for?" My answer was Obama. I'd say some stuff about his economic plan, his moral values, and what I think he could learn from being president. His only real flaw that I totally noticed was he was very idealistic and optimistic. I heard s**t like "I don't trust black people." or "He's the ******** anti-Christ." But that's another discussion for another time.
It all was worth a good chuckle, but no corrections needed to be made as it would only put more strain in the room, and intensity is something I really would rather avoid in this life, at least until I graduate. (Almost doooone <3)
So the whole point I have is that if you are aware of the maxim
"Everything is fine for discussion expect religion and politics" (or something along those lines), then it's the best to follow in general discussion when you're sitting with someone who isn't afraid to/doesn't care enough about you to punch you in the face.
Kay, I'm done rambling. xD
About essentially...my agreeing with you.
