For as long as I can remember, my mother had been telling me about the ancient secrets of our village. Unlike my timid sister, Willow, I loved the part about the ghost sightings and rituals. I almost forgot all of the rituals mentioned; however, I do remember the more bizarre ones. The blinding ritual and rope-strangling ritual are among these unusual rituals. Yet, I still more interesting in the ghost sightings around our village. One day, I even vowed that I’m going to find them and introduce them to our family. My parents were very eager about me finding them; although, Willow needed a little more time to get over her fears.
There was only one ghost; however, that always gave me the chills when I hear its name. This spirit was called The Calamity, and I heard that anyone who saw it would die almost immediately if they were touched by it. However, the truth will come out about this spirit and I’ll be the first to figure it out, after some unusual and tragic circumstances.

It all began on a lively spring day in the middle of April, in the backyard of our home. Willow and I were playing demon tag, while my parents were having their green tea under the sakura tree. I managed to slip away from the yard and hid in the woods behind our property.
Willow was calling me, “Spyder! I’m going to get you!”
I wasn’t going to answer her, since it’ll expose my hiding spot. When I did decide to look at my surroundings, I saw the strangest sight that will soon haunt my memory. It seemed to be an old, deserted village deep in the woods. Before I could describe it anymore in my mind, I felt a slap on my shoulder.
“Haha, I got you!” cheered my excited sister.
It didn’t take long before my sister saw the village, too. We both stood there, in the middle of the woods, staring at it. The village was inviting us over to venture inside its walls… Willow looked at me with her pale red eyes, uncertain about whether we should answer the call or ignore it.
“Spyder, should we go in…?” Willow squeaked.
“…I guess it’s okay…”
We started to venture into the village hand-in-hand, the forest disappearing into the fog. To this day, I regret making that decision…
