I got back on........oh I am losing track of time. What day is it today? Well, I got back not yesterday but the day before. Late at night. Oh oh! Yesderday was the begining of the olympics, which was the 8th, so I got back on the 7th. Whatever day that was.....
Anyway. So. My holiday....It was, alright I guess. I prefer England though. Next time I complain about rain over here I will thank myself that I'm not in ireland because it will be raining 10x harder and 10x longer than in england. Seriously, we had what - 2 nice days for weather? Something like that. And we were travelling on those days, too. Yes yes, we did lots of driving around which I don't mind much. But nell does. And when she starts whining after only 20 minutes, tilly joins in and starts fighting with her for some entertainment because, oh nell doesn't half put on a show when tilly starts. We stayed in dublin for a bit and also went to he opposite side of the island to kilarney, and we drived all around county kerry. We went from the bottom of the island up to the top to a place called balina. It's where nell's friend ellie and her mum, who is friends with my mum, live. They were all happy to see each other. We also visited lots of places en route.
Highlights of the holiday, lets see.....we saw a one horned goat. Where the other horn was, I do not know. It was so cute and friendily. We stopped in the car and it came walking up to us, and then it put it's chin on the window and we fed it some bread. My dad was scared of it...stupid bugger. Admitantly, the goat did keep on rearing up........but it was friendily. You could tell. When we started driving away it ran after us! There was something else that happened and I was going to write about it.....I've forgotten.
Ireland is so sparsely populated, it's eerie. There are just all these abandoned cottage ruins. It's sad to think that all the villages just died out and still no one lives there. When driving in england, you come across many nice villages and there are random pubs on top of hills and you can have a nice pub lunch. In ireland wer only came across a handful on a day's travelling. And they're all a bit pathetic. Even the big cities look decrepit. This is one of the reasons I prefer england. I was expecting the scenery to be better too. It's not bad, but I wouldn't say it was especially better than anywhere else.
signing off...
