"I know you're sad about moving, but this'll be better for us", his mother said to him, trying to make him feel better. His step father added "Yeah, with the new baby coming along, we need a bigger house. Besides, you'll make new friends". They both turned around and smiled at him, knowing deep down that he had no friends.
Adam, his step father, revved the engine to thier Explorer and drove away from the only home he ever knew. His mother, Johanna, and Adam thought that he dreaded moving away but he was ecstatic. He never liked living in Lonin Valley and moving away from there was the best thing that ever happened to him. He had no friends and deceased family there, and he was so eager to get away from the things he didnt have. He watched his former school as they passed by it. He would be a high school senior next year, but not at Lonin Valley High School. Inside his mind he was jumping for joy. There would be no more teasing and taunting, no more sitting in the back of the classroom attemptimg to hide himself from the other students. There was only one person who would have ever been close to him and her name was Elayne Morris. She was a fairly pretty girl with almost platnum blonde hair and dark sapphire eyes.
He was sitting at the back of the calssroom when she approached him.
"Whats up!?" she said in a perky voice. He looked up at her with a quizzical look. Nobody had really talked to him since the fourth grade.
"Umm.....hi" he said.
"I'm Elayne, im new here. And you are....?"
"Dre'", he said as he skimmed her appearance. She wore a black shirt with "I HEART Music" written in green lettering on it. Her skirt was black and pleated neatly and was short in length. She had black an green rubber bracelets on her small wrists and her fingernails were painted black. He could easily tell that she was goth or emo.
"So uh... what do you want?" he asked, straitforward ant to the point.
"Well, when I walked in I saw this really cute guy with gold and green eyes and light brown hair", she sat down next to him. "Soooo...I decided to go and talk to him". She smiled and revealed two rows of white and perectly strait teeth. He smiled back at her.
"And who might this guy be? He's lucky", he said and she giggled. Dre' glowed inside. No one had ever talked to him like she had. She made him feel so good inside. Elayne talked to him everyday after that memorable day in tenth grade. But one day during the summer he got a phone call from her. She was moving away from Lonin Valley. His heart dropped. That was the end of Andre' Scott.

As they drove out of town, he thought about the few things he would miss about his old home, and he thought about Elayne. Her memory lingered, but his love for her did not. As he thought about those things he dozed off into a quiet sleep.
