Every time I turn around
Another wound
At every turn the dagger drives deeper
It hurts.
Each time it's worse than the one before
What hurts even more?
It's not a stranger that's hurting me
Holding this dagger that's plowed ever deeper into my back
No it's much worse than that
It's a friend
Someone I thought I was close to
Someone I thought I trusted.
How it hurts!
I want to believe things will change
I want to believe it will stop
But how long can I hold out?
Will it end in tears?
In pain?
Can no one hear me?
See my silent tears?
I only want a true friend
One that won't hurt me
Are there really only very few of them left?
Those who are true and honest?
Ones that let you be yourself?
A shoulder to cry on?
I feel the dagger driven deeper
Can't anyone pull it out
And help to heal these painfully deep wounds?
