A man made from paper walked down the road, holding his pair of scissors at his side. As he walked he was rustled by the wind. He continued his trek, soon spotting a woman leaning against a tree. He approached the woman and proceeded to ask, "Pardon me, but by chance, is this your tree?" The woman responded, "why yes, why is it you ask?" The paper man answered, "I wish to use a part of your tree, a twig if you will, so that I may stop my arm from moving with the wind as to not stab myself with my scissors." The woman replied, "I will be happy to aid you in your plight, but, you must offer me something of your own in exchange for a twig from my tree." The paper man had nothing to offer. Then, he brought up his scissors and severed his arm, offering it to the woman, who smiled as she broke a twig from her tree, exchanging it for the paper man's arm. The paper man proceeded to attach his new arm to his body. He was about to leave, when the woman stopped him. "Wait, if you leave, your other arm will flap in the wind, would you not prefer arms of wood?" The paper man began to think, and agreed to her suggestion. "Very well, but you must cut my other arm, for I am unable to bend the new limb you have provided me." The woman took the paper man's scissors and severed his other arm. Afterwards, she raised her hand, and for a second time, plucked a twig from her tree, applying it to the paper man's torso. The paper man proceeded leave a second time, but was stopped again by the woman's words, "you posses arms imune to the wind, but what of your legs?" Again, the paper man began to think and was again persuaded by her words, "do as you will," he said. The woman took the paper man's scissors once again, severing both his legs and replacing them with the twigs she plucked from her tree. The paper man began to leave once more, and for a third time was stopped by the woman's words. "What about your head? Surely with a head of paper, you cannot see where you are going when the wind blows." The paper man thought about here words, coming to the decision that she was right. "Very well then," he said. One final time, the woman raised the paper man's scissors and cut off his head. The paper man's body fell limp to the ground. The woman gathered his arms, legs and head, setting them next to her as she smiled to herself.
That is the story of how a man of paper came to pieces by his own pair of scissors.
