Chapter 3: The Knights
(Note: this part of the story will be in Spha's POV, his POV will always be in the color orange)
(Also this starts off at the scene where the have left their house and started to run.)
I wasn't sure what was going on I was still very confused has to why raiders have come to our town but me and my brother were going to run away. I was trying to catch up with my brother but he was moving way too fast i thought i was going to lose him. While i was running i could hear screams in the air and houses set on fire. I could see straight and i was far behind my brother. I saw Curl stop to look at the craziness of the village, I could tell brother was scared.
I tried to catch up, but i tripped over a rock. I fell straight into the dirt, and i started to shed tears. I was hurt and alone and my brother ran away! He ran AWAY and left me here!!! I started to cry even more because my brother had abandoned me. I heard a horse trot over to me and then i saw a raider look downwards at me. I still cried because i was scared, alone, and helpless.
The raider just sat there on his horse staring at me, then he called over another raider and pretty soon almost every raider was crowded around me, the crying hurt boy. I heard one of them say,
"Yup, that must be him. Stick him in the cage!"
Then i heard a immediate response saying,
"Sir! Yes sir!"
They picked me up and dragged me to a steel cage that was large enough for a dog.They tossed me in there and locked it. I heard after that,
"You, put our flag up in the village center, this land is our land now!"
After that my body couldn't take what was happening so i just slept...
Next time i awoke, i was in the back of a covered wagon and with a raider in front of my cage. I wasn't sure what was happening, but i was sure that i was hungry!
So i ask the raider,
"Hey mister, do you have any food? I'm hungry..."
The man didn't reply instead he look the opposite way of my direction. I thought they are going to kill me!
Then at that moment, the man turned around and handed me a plate with food, it had a loaf of bread, steamed rabbit, and a apple. The man also handed me a flask which contained a pint of water. (Flask is a leather bag they use to fill with liquids, like a old fashioned canteen)
Since the man turned around i could see what his face looked like. He had medium length brown hair, a pale skin tone tainted with scars, bruises, and scratches (probably from battles) he had deep green eyes and a rough unshaven beard. His voice was also very deep and manly. He asked me,
"Hey, are you okay?"
I replied with, "I am now that you gave me food, thank you mister,"
"No worries and call me David, what's your name?"
"I'm Spha Eer."
"Well Spha, we have a long road ahead of us, best we stick together," replied David
"So, who are you guys? Are you guys raiders or bandits?"
David let out a chuckle and laughed,
"We are not raiders, we are noble Knights of Cydonia." (And yes i got that from the song, don't sue me muse!)
"Knights?! Are you crusaders or something because you destroyed my village, and everyone inside of it!"
"We are Knights, we are dogs of war loyal to our masters, tools of destruction ready to strike anytime time, We are loyal servants of the royal, we do not disobey our masters."
"Even if your master is wrong? Like to pillage an innocent town?! Do you still carry out the order?!"
David turned around and said nothing. I went back to finishing my food, and when i went to take a sip out of the flask, I heard David say,
"If my master was wrong, he would dead. I wouldn't be here."
