Renee was starting to get sick of these dreams. They always ended the same, whoever was with her disappeared and said 'This is the only way you'll understand this world.' She walked into the kitchen to find her twin sister, Annie already eating breakfast. Annie noticed the annoyed look on Renee's face.
"You dreamed about that forest again, didn't you?"
"Yeah," Renee replied.
"Who was it this time?"
"You," Renee said. She was starting to get really annoyed. "I'm not in the mood for twenty quetions, Annie."
"Sorry," Annie replied. She sighed. I think all of these dreams are taking a toll on her. I'm really starting to worry, she hasn't payed attention to anything but those books and her dreams.- Annie thought as Renee put some poptarts in the toaster-She hasn't really been eating that much either. Something's definately wrong, I have to get Renee back before this one tries anything stupid.
"What are you planning, Annie?" Renee said as though reading her thoughts.
Annie looked at her, "Nothing, nothing at all," she replied hastily. "Isn't it time to go?" Annie said, looking for a reason to end the conversation.
"What's wrong Annie, I've never seen you this anxious to get to school?" Renee said. The poptarts came up, she took one and started eating it.
"Nothings wrong with me, but I think you might be obsessed with this forest." Annie said matter of factly. She finished her breakfast and got up. She took her plate, put in the sink and and walked out the door. Renee was begginning to become suspicious of her sister. It seemed that she'd been keeping secrets ever since these dreams started. Her whole attitude had changed, she went from grades don't matter to grades are everything, in just one week. She hadn't worn any red since we got report cards, before that at least one part of her outfit was red everyday. Also in the dream, she was the only one who had seen memories of the future.- Renee thought as she finished the second poptart.
She dusted off her fingers and walked to the door, grabbing her red hat on the way out. She began the short walk to school, saying hi to a few neighbors along the way. At the next corner a couple of friends joined her. "Hey, Mark. Hey, Angie," she said tiredly.
"Hey, Re-Re," they replied in unison.
"What's new?" Renee asked.
"Not much, how 'bout you?" Mark answered.
"I dreamt about that forest again," Renee complained.
"Really, who disappeared this time?" Angie joined the conversation.
"Annie, but what's weird is that she saw emories of the future and everyone else always saw memories from the past."
"How can a memory be from the future?" Mark asked.
"I don't know, I guess it's like deja vu," Renee replied uncertaintly.
"Or maybe it's memories to be made," Angie added. They reached the school and had to go to their first period classes. Renee to English, Mark to science, and Angie to math. Today was gonna be a long day.
Renee sat in the back of her English class andtook out the journal and a pencil.Today was Friday, creative writing day. Renee used this time to write about her dreams since the teacher would think she was just being 'creative'. The only thing she couldn't stand about English, was the guy sitting next to her, Angel. The first time she saw him, she knew he would be trouble. She still sat next to him every day. Mark and Angie could swear they caught her staring at him in lunch every time she actually came to lunch.
Oh, great here comes Angel. I wonder what mischief he's gonna cause today.- Renee thought as Angel walked into class. Late as usual- she looked at her watch to tell Angel if he'd beaten his record- Wait a minute, he's two minutes early- she was shocked at that. Angel was never on time, much less early. She pushed this thought to the back of her mind, sunk into her seat and bagan writing. Angel pulled out his chair and sat next to her. Renee looked up at him, brieafly and returned to her writing.
"Hey," Angel said.
"Hey," Renee replied blandly. Angel brushed his smooth dark hair to the side. He hated how his hair fell over one eye.
"What'ya writin'?" He asked pointing at her journal.
"Nothing," Renee replied just as blandly as before.
"Can I see it?" Angel asked. He was just goofing around, he did this every Friday. Come in, sit down, and ask Renee questions.
"We both know what the answer is to that question," Renee replied, yawning.
