When Christmas ends, the New Year is soon to begin. Stores set out big sales and people are preparing New Year's Eve parties.
Where I live, there are some people that enjoy having parties on special occasions such as this. Can you guess what they do when the clock strikes 12? They go outside thinking they couldn't harm a thing, if they shot their gun up, into the skies. Unfortunately, that piece of metal, as small as it may be, will go very far up and then come down, gaining momentum as it falls. If it were to come down on your head, you could die. That bullet could come down and kill any unwary person or animal. New Year's Eve is a special time that all should enjoy. Please don't go shooting guns at midnight, you never know what that bullet could do when it comes down.
Another thing, these rowdy folks that live near me like to party hard. I'm not saying partying's a bad thing, but if alcohol is involved, I warn you, be careful.
Last New Year's Eve my neighbors drank too much. The people inside the house locked another out as a joke and jeered at him with slurred words. The one locked out screamed and yelled and pounded on the door, cursing the whole time, his voice slurred as well. We heard raucous laughter and a car door slamming. Then we heard very loud screeching coming from the road. I could tell by the sound pattern that he was swerving back and forth across the road. We called he police and that was the last we heard of the neighbors.
So, in conclusion, please don't shoot guns into the skies, and please don't drink and drive.
