As of late, I have taken to recovering from incidents relating to my profession. It is not the pain that troubles me, but the lingering presence of an unsavoury character who insists her intentions are true. While I do have a measure of gratitude for her surprising medical expertise, I find myself wary of her motives.
I see no reason why to believe her, when she has earned her reputation as a deceptive and manipulative woman. My share of the heist's spoils are kept closer to me than my own doubts. Just as she keeps her hungry eye on me, I too, keep my eye on the Zantetsuken. To be twice robbed of my heirloom would be unspeakably shameful.
I am prepared to forfeit my life if my spirit is lost.
