Bella stood in the rain gazing up into the foreboding clouds. Edward and his family had left for good this time. She knew they were not coming back. Not this time. She felt a pair of too-warm arms encircle her waist in a comforting manner.
"Bella, honey, are you doing alright?" Jacob asked, nuzzling her cheek with his lips. Bella nodded, and turned her head to kiss him. She'd known this would happen if she chose Jacob over Edward. Or in this case, a werewolf over a vampire. Still, she would miss her friends.
Jacob's lips pressed closer to her's, and then he pulled back. "I have to go on patrol with the rest of the pack, but I'll be back soon, my love," he informed her, smiling down at her. His shaggy black hair was slightly spiked today, making Bella giggle slightly, and then she bade him farewell. Jacob stole one more kiss from her sweet lips, then tore off into the forest, phasing into a russet wolf.
Bella had long ago become accustomed to that form, and pressed her hand to her slightly rounded belly. She smiled and wondered just what their first child was going to look like after it'd been born. If it were a boy, or anything like Leah, it would make a fine werewolf one day. Her wedding ring glimmered in the dim light of the porch, and she went inside to make Jacob a banquet for when he returned.

~Meanwhile with Edward~

Edward watched as Alexis Lestat, his human fiancee, came over to him with a live goat. "I hope this will suit your tastes, Edward," she laughed, handing him the rope so that the animal could not escape. Edward smiled at his red-haired beauty. "He will satisfy my bloodlust, but he can't satify my other hungers," he replied, kissing her forehead. Alexis blushed, and smiled up at him. "I shall await for you in your chamber, love," she replied, wandering into the huge mansion they owned.
Her emerald eyes locked with Edward's amber ones for a moment, and then she disappeared into the white washed building. God she was the most beautiful crature he'd ever met in his whole lifetime. Her hold over him was far stronger than the hold Bella had once held over him.
