Harrold stormed through the hospital. People in the halls jumped out of his way. He found an exit and crashed through the doors out into the cool night air. He paused for a moment, wondering how he was supposed to get anywhere without a car.
“What are you trying to prove?” Harrold turned to see Carina in the doorway of the exit.
“Why can’t you just mind your own business for once in your stupid life?!”
“Harrold, I just—,”
“Why can’t you just go away you freak?! God, you get on my nerves!” Carina said nothing. Harrold turned and started to walk across the parking lot. Carina took a couple of deep breaths and wiped away the tears that had started to roll down her cheeks.
Harrold nearly crashed into Carina when she ran in front of him and stood in his path. “Get out of the way.” He said quietly, looking over the top of her head.
“Harrold, you brought this upon yourself. I really wish it didn’t have to come to this.” Harrold looked into Carina’s eyes. The usual sparkle had left and they now seemed blank and lifeless.
“What nonsense are you talking about now?” Harrold asked a little less angrily. Before Harrold could even blink, Carina swung her foot around so that it collided with the side of Harrold’s head. Harrold fell to the ground, unconscious. Carina wiped away more tears. Everything had officially fallen apart.
“Ow!” Harrold put his hand on his head as a sharp pain shot through it.
“Geez, do you think you hit him hard enough Carina?” Harrold heard an unfamiliar voice.
“Whatever.” Harrold heard Carina say. Her voice sounded angry and distant.
“Make yourself useful and go get some ice.” The unfamiliar voice ordered. After a couple seconds of silence the voice said, “Now would be nice.” Harrold heard light foot steps leaving the room as he slowly opened his eyes.
“You finally made it. Unconscious, but you made it nonetheless.” The unfamiliar voice belonged to a boy that looked a little bit older than Harrold.
“Um…hi.” Harrold sat up and looked around. He was lying on a couch in a very big room with a couple of chairs, the couch he was laying on, and a coffee table that sat in the middle of the room. There was a clock on the wall that read 11:00 pm. He hadn’t been out that long. He looked around and saw a girl across the room reading a book. Another girl was sitting in a bean bag chair playing a videogame.
“Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Nicolas.” The older boy bowed. He had sandy brown wavy hair that was about as long as Harrold’s. He was quite tall and tan and he had a tattoo on his left arm. He looked as if he belonged at the beach.
“Nick, you freak. Since when do you bow to people?” The videogame girl asked.
“That would be Valerie.” Nicolas said with a sigh. Valerie was younger than Harrold and had dark, shoulder length hair. She had a very nice smile and warm brown eyes.
“And if Laura would get her nose out of her book I could introduce you to her.”
“You just did noob.” Laura lowered her book and giggled at Nicolas. She had long blonde hair in two braids. Her cheeks went a little pink as she said hello to Harrold. She looked to be about the same age as Valerie.
woot new characters. theres actually one more character u gotta meet but he's introduced on the next page so u lose.
