Chapter 3
Viridian City, the city that gives births to all new beginnings. Kuro, Treecko, and Magikarp were battleing any person they happened to cross paths with. With eight wins and two loses, Team Kuro was feeling very confident. Already Magikarp had grown two levels, and Treecko had grown three. Kuro's team now hung out at the local pond, so Magikarp could rest a little. Treecko, wanting to give it a try too, made a attempt to swim. He backed up slowly, burst into a full-out frontward run, and jumped. With a splash, Treecko popped up, and apparntly couldn't swim by his splashing and struggling. Kuro laughed as Magikarp brought him back onto the shore. Kuro gave Treecko and towel and wrapped him in it. It sat there, shivering and breathing heavily. "Cold shock huh?" Kuro asked. Treecko gave him a sort of "No duh, genius" stare and nodded slowly. A cry brok the scilence around the area, "MAN-KEEEEEYYYYY!!!!" Kuro's team jumped around to see a Mankey holding what appeared to be a Pichu hostage. "We need to help that Pichu!" Kuro went to take a look at Treecko to see it had already taken off.
The Mankey stood in a tree, screeching as loudly as possible. the Pichu was in the tree crying as hard as possible. "Stop!" Kuro yelled as Treecko punched Mankey out of the tree. Mankey rolled down the tree to the ground, stood up, and began screeching some more. Treecko jumped down and got into a fighting stance. This match, had begun. "Treecko use Pound!" Mankey began to run at Treecko as it jumped into the air, with one fell swoop, Treecko came down, and smacked Mankey with it's tail. Mankey clasped it's head in pain as it began to back up. "Treecko, One more time!" Treecko ran up, got right in Mankey's face, and spun around on one foot, smacking Mankey in the face one last time with it's tail. Mankey rolled off a little ways, then layed face up, completely unconcious. Kuro took out one of his Pokeballs, and threw it. It hit Mankey square in the head, and in a blast of light, disappeared into it. The ball lay on the ground shaking....once.....twice.....three.....Clunk! Kuro walked over, picked up the ball, and took out his Pokedex.

Treecko climbed down from the tree with the scared Pichu, who was firing off sparks every which way. "We need to bring this Pichu to someplace to be treated!" Kuro told Treecko. Treecko looked left and right, looking somewhere for a hospital. Treecko jumped from a couple shocks from Pichu and ran off due north-east. Kuro saw him and ran off. After a couple blocks, they wound up at a gigantic building, a giant red jewel was in the middle. They ran inside the building and ran up to the front desk. Kuro began slamming down on the bell, trying to get someone's attention to this Pichu. "Chansey!" Kuro looked around, he couldn't determine where that voice had come from. "Chansey Chansey!" A giant pink Pokemon wearing a nurses hat popped up to the front desk. Kuro blinked, surely this Pokemon wasn't in charge. Something stung his right arm, he turned around to see the Pichu's sparks weakning, it's energy weakening. "Ok look," he began, "this Pichu's hurt. I don't care if you're in charge of this hospital, but we need you to help it!" "Ok, we'll do our best to treat it!" Kuro looked around again, that COULDN'T have been the Pokemon in front of him. He looked next to the Pokemon to see a girl wearing a nurses uniform, with green eyes and pink hair. She smiled a smile she had seen from parent's of Pallet, a warm, caring smile that made you feel as if all the pain in the world could just disappear by just looking at this smile. "You must be in charge of this......place" Kuro said. "Yes I am, I'm Nurse Joy, and this is the Pokemon Center." She looked over to her Pokemon and whispered something to it, it ran off with the Pichu, "That was Chansey, She helps me with all the hurt Pokemon here." Kuro nodded, and then reached for his belt, pulling out Magikarp and Mankey's Pokeballs, "Can you heal these guys too?" Joy took the Pokeballs from him, "I can heal them, but it will take a little bit, can you wait?" Kuro nodded, "Yea, me and Treecko will just take a walk." Treecko jumped onto his shoulder and nodded. "All treatments will be done in 30 minutes, can you come back then?" Kuro nodded right as he was walking out the door, "Will do!"
Kuro and Treecko were walking around Viridian, taking in all the sites. There final stop before returning to the center, was the Viridian City Gym. Statues of what appeared to be a rare Pokemon lined the walkway in. Kuro ran up to one and read the engraving on it.

Kuro wondered what kinda of Pokemon Mewtwo is. It must have been one of the strongest Pokemon ever to be cloned after the Phantom Pokemon Mew. Treecko tapped Kuro on the back, trying to get him to snap out of his trance. He shook his head around a little to wake up, smiled at Treecko, and then walked over to the front door of the Gym. He knocked on the door, and seemingly by itself, opened slowly. They walked into the dark gym, a sort of eerie feeling crept upon them. A single light fell upon the gym. A figure stood in that light, holding what appeared to be a Pokeball. "Why have you come here?" The figure asked in a obnoxious voice. "I have come for a training match!" Kuro declared nervously. Lights flooded the gym. Kuro peered ahead to see a man in a blue shirt, his brown spiky hair was the most distinct thing about him. "Oh," He sighed, "I thought you were here for a gym match." He pulled out a Pokeball from his belt, "So, what is the name of my Challenger?" "I am Kuro of Pallet Town!" Kuro bravely declared as Treecko ran into the Arena in front of him, "Who is the Challengee?" The Leader threw his Pokeball, and in a burst of light, a Pokemon appeared buried in the ground, "I am Gary Oak of the Town of Pallet!" A Person appeared on the side of the arena, Kuro decided that must be the judge. "This will be a one on one Match between the Challenger Kuro, and the Gym Leader Gary! No substitutions will be made. First Pokemon decalred unable to battle will be the loser. Reeeeaaaadddddyyyyyyyy........"
