So our fair has finally hit our small town, and guess who has to work there, if you guessed the king of france, I'm sorry but you are wrong. Anyways, I have to work there today AND tomorrow! I really don't want to, but they had absolutely no one volunteering, so I had to do it, the e-mails wouldn't stop coming!!! In fact, now that I think about it, they still won't stop! It's like "knock it off, I already gave you as much time as I possibly can!!!" But oh well, I guess now that I think about it, that's how my school is with everything!!!
So that aside, the point I'm making is I get to spend 4 hours for two days in a small cramped booth with 4 other people (if there are even that many people) dipping bananas in that wax that they all call "chocolate" (seriously, it tastes like wax!!!), and selling it off to other people, remaining fairly hungry all the while!
Why do I dread this so much?
My freshman year of highschool, I went to work there thinking it might be good to get some money into my orhestra account. I worked I think 12 hours for 1 day or somethin'. It was really hot that day, and I got afternoon-evening shifts. In the time, we had no air conditioner, and the little fan we had broke down almost 2 hours before I came. On top of that, we all had to deal with lunch right? Well me and like, one other girl stayed in the booth while the others went and had themselves a nice 45 minute long lunch.
By the time they got back, we were kinda hungry, so we went to get our own. Well, one of the teacher assistants came in to see how we were doing, and checked the inventory and stuff. We had 3 subs left (note: pickle barrel was bringing some new ones already at that time) and she threw a hizzy fit, like "but there's only 3 left, couldn't you wait a little, blah blah worry blah!" We eventually caved, and just took two bananas and a soda! That... was my lunch... I'm glad I ate ten, cause it took pickle barrel 2 hours to deliver our sandwiches in the long run.
Well, there's alot more I could write about, but I'll stop here since I've already probably written more than enough, so I'll just catch you all later.
