Prologue
Ashley and Paxton Parker decided to go to the mountains. The sisters loved to see all the snow on the mountains so they figured if they could get out of school on the first day they were off for Christmas break they could stay for at least a week so they could be home in time for Christmas. Ashley was one year younger than Paxton which made her 16 where paxton is 17. Ashley was a punky brunette Where Paxton was more laid back, still a little punky but was calm and collected everything Ashley wasn’t. So they waited until the night before, then they started packing. “Ok so I have my toothbrush, clothes, and cell phone… what am I forgetting? Oh duh, hairbrush.” Said Paxton, running into the bathroom. Ashley walked in. “I need my toothbrush now.” Then picked it up and walked out. “I’ve got my MP3 player, my cell phone, clothes and other crap so I’m ready!” Said Ashley to her sister who had just walked out of the bathroom. Paxton looked down at her sisters bulging bag and said, Good Grief, ever hear of packing light? Ashley smiled. “Nope!” Paxton laughed lightly then laid down in bed. Ashley flipped out the lights and jumped into her own bed. “Do you think this will be fun?” She asked. “Of course, It will be an experience we will never forget.” Said Paxton, drifting off to sleep. She had no idea how right she was.
Chapter 1
Paxton parked the car outside of the lodge and smiled. “Well here we are! The haunted wolf inn awesome name huh? I’m so excited ha…uh Ashes?” She turned and saw her sister was asleep and lightly breathing. She smiled and gently shook her shoulder. Ashley didn’t stir. So Paxton tried again a little harder this time and Ashley still didn’t wake. So Paxton leaned over Ashley’s ear quietly then… ”ASHES!” she screamed. Then pulled away. Ashes jumped and hit her head on the roof of the car. “WHAT WAS THAT FOR?” Ashes yelled at Paxton. “We’re here.” She said as she gestured to the big mansion looking Hotel in front of them. Pax climbed out of the car and went around to the back of the car and began to unload their bags. Ashes just sat there looking at the hotel and rubbing her head. Why are we staying in such a creepy old place? She thought to herself as she climbed slowly out of the car keeping her eyes locked on the hotel. She went around to the back with her sister and grabbed the bag and walked with Pax up to the front entrance. Suddenly dark clouds loomed over them and it began to freeze rain on them. Ashley reached for the door and tried to open it but it wouldn’t budge so she gave another hard tug. It still didn’t move and the rain had began to comedown harder and they heard thunder in the distance “GREAT!” Ashes yelled at the sky. “WHAT ELSE YOU GOT FOR US HUH?” Then she kicked the door and wrapped her coat tighter around her. “Calm down the door is open.” Paxton told her as she walked in. How did that happen? It wouldn’t budge earlier. Ashes thought as she walked in after her sister. “wow….” Paxton said. “The outside might look scary but it looks like a palace in here!” Then Ashes ran to the front desk and rung the bell. She looked around and saw nobody so she turned around and leaned up against the desk and closed her eyes. “May I help you miss?” A male voice asked . Ashes jumped and turned around fast knocking the pen jar off the desk. “oh I’m sorry you startled me that’s all” she said as she bent down to pick the jar up. She put it back on the desk and looked up. A Cute guy with brown hair and grey eyes stood there smiling. Oh my god….HE IS FINE! Ashes thought as she stared suddenly Paxton came up behind her and said, “Yes you may reservations for the Parker sisters” She put her hand on ashes shoulder “Sorry about my sister she’s a little clumsy.” then she leaned over to his ear and whispered, “and boy crazy” she pulled back and saw he was smiling trying to keep his professional look about him. He cleared his throat “Right this way ladies, let me show you around a bit.” He said as he walked out from behind the desk. Ashes shot a look at Paxton and slapped her over the back of the head as she followed the man. “This ladies, is the foyer where all our parties and galas. Any event we have here u shall be invited to.” He gestured around the room. “Is there anyone else staying here?” Ashes asked. “Actually no miss the hotel is empty the storm watch scared away all our guests. And if u look outside the storm is beginning.” He said. “Storm?” Paxton and Ashley said at the same time. “Yes didn’t you see it on the news? There is a huge snow storm on its way here.” Said the man. “oh my god you have GOT TO BE KIDDING!” Ashes yelled she felt her anger rising. “Great there goes her fuse..” Paxton said rolling her eyes. “What’s that supposed to mean?!” Yelled Ashes, not caring they were staring at her. “Your freaking temper!” Yelled Paxton. “WHATEVER!” Screamed ashes as she stalked off. Paxton heard the door slam and a scream of anger. “Your sister isn’t very smart.” He said looking at Paxton. “Why do you say that?” She asked. He answered, “Because its almost below freezing and she just locked herself out.” Pax couldn’t help but laugh. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath about a minute later she heard the door slam she looked around and The man was gone. She shrugged and looked at her room key, 401. Looks like I’m on my own finding my room. she thought as she headed for the stairs.
Ashley looked over as the door banged open. She saw the man come out. He looked at her with his intense grey eyes and smiled. “Let me guess you have an anger issue?” Ashes glared at him and turned her head. “oh how inconsiderate I didn’t even tell the girl who has a crush on me my name, Its Ryan.” Ashes turned her head to him her eyes were big he couldn’t tell if she was blushing or if the cold was the cause of her redness. “I don’t have a crush on you” She said softly. “I was just messing around Ashley calm down heh why are you getting so protective? You must have a crush on me.” He smiled and opened the door. “After you my sweet” He said grinning. Even his smile is cute. Ashes thought to herself. Then she realized she was smiling and staring. So she started to glare at him again. “Never call me that again.” She said as she moved towards the door. He whispered in her ear as she passed, “you know u liked it when I did.” She closed her eyes and kept a hard face as she walked past.
CHAPTER 2
Paxton walked down the hallway and turned when she heard footsteps behind her she looked back and the footsteps stopped. She raised her eyebrow and started to walk faster. This time she heard clear footsteps behind her. She stopped dead in her tracks and turned. She saw a guy standing there he wasn’t very far away she could make him out clearly, The black hair with ed spikes, his dark black eyes that sparkled red and his outfit was one of an employees. WOW! Now that is a hottie! She thought as she stared at him. He began to walk towards her she wanted to move closer but his eyes held her in place. He walked up close to her so that he was lightly brushing her with his arm. “hello miss I am Kyle the manager at the howling wolf inn May I help you with anything?” He asked. She blinked for a few seconds then she cleared her throat. “ Yes Kyle I am looking for my and my sisters room.” He held out his hand and she placed the key in it. He saw the number and said “right this way.” He started walking off and she followed. He began to speak to her, “So how old are you miss?” She looked over at him, “My name is Paxton not miss and I’m 17.” He smirked and said, “well that is a cool name. Its very unique.” He smiled at her “So how long are you in the mountains?” She smiled she couldn’t tell if he was flirting or not. She hoped he was. “for a week then I go back home to my parents I’m here with my sister, Ashley.” He was looking at the numbers on the doors. “Here we are. Ill be gladly seeing you around.” He left her with a smile and a pat on the shoulder. She stared after him for a while before opening the door to her room. She walked in and flopped on the bed. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face.
Ashley was sitting down in a chair in the lobby with her eyes closed she was trying to warm up in front of the fire but it wasn’t working very well. She felt a presence beside her she turned her head away from the fire and opened her eyes. Grey ones stared back at her. She turned her head to the fire and watched the flames rise and fall. “hey Ashley I’m sorry I was just messing around out there I hope you understand” he said as he sat down in the chair beside her. She sighed and looked towards him. “Its alright I have to admit I was being hard on you” she said with a half smile. He laughed lightly and looked into the fire. He got up and moved to the couch so he was sitting next to her. She raised her eyebrow and then shook her head. She took in a deep breath then rested her head on the armrest and yawned. He looked over at her and saw her eyes were closed. “Ashley?” He said. She didn’t answer him. He smiled at her and planted a kiss on her forehead and walked off.
Outside someone was watching the whole thing glaring in at the sleeping girl and growling. They stalked over to the door and banged on it. Ryan was gone and ashes was deep into sleep. Another employee walked into the room and greeted the door with a smile the smile faded once he saw who-or what it was. He let out an ear piercing scream as it pounced on him. Ashes jumped and fell off the couch. Paxton woke up and started to run out of the room into the foyer. She was about half way there when she heard a window rash behind her. She glanced back and saw the demonic half human thing running after her.
