His voice droned out of my mind, a low mumble compared to the cheerful bells ringing within my mind. It was almost time...almost time. I stared at my watch, the sun reflecting off the hands in the machine, slowly moving down each number.
My mind must have slipped into my quiet world, for someone's voice cut into my thoughts.
My teacher's voice.
I felt my cheeks flush as I stared at him with clueless eyes, bright with confusion and embarrassment. He had asked me the answer to the problem as he pointed to the board, finger smeared with chalk, face marked with a frown.
I just looked at him with a cocky grin. "I dunno, sir."
Sighing, he repeated the lesson, his chalk-pale finger jabbing onto the mess written on the board. His forehead was damp with frustration and weariness, while I sat their with waves of positive joy.
The bell rang with ferocious strength and I stood, gathering my books and thoughts. I stepped through the doorway quickly into the flowing crowd of students outside the classroom, feeling the teacher's burning stare drilling into my back.
I rushed out with no further ado.
Books hard against my chest, I ran to my locker. My sister would defiantly disapprove of its bright pink color, personally decorated by me. I still wonder why she hates pink so. My hands dug into its contents after unlocking it, pulling out my bag.
Alas, school was over, and I would finally have time to daydream without being disturbed.
And time to cheer my sister up.
