• "Would you sing for me?" Melios quietly requested. "Please?"

"What do you want me to sing?"

    "Anything."

I racked my brain for anything with a tune and words to it. The first thing that popped into my head was the only one that made me and the song itself sound good. Was Melios going to like it? Probably not. But it's all I could think of. I opened my mouth and let it run on autopilot.

    Spacy-eyed, passionate, child of wonder
    Speaks my name once again
You have glassy eyes that stare at me
As if I'm infinity, infinity to you
I hate to say that infinity is impossible
Because all things must have an end
One way or another, one way or another

Friend of ages, friend of endlessness
You touch me with a recognition
That reminds me that I've known you
    For an infinity, an infinity
I hate to say that infinity is impossible
Because all things must have a start
One way or another, one way or another

The stars glare down at the world tonight
    Screaming, yelling, shouting at us
Saying we will never see infinity, infinity
Because all things must have a start and an end
One way or another, one way or another

I can't stand all of this noise
It's clouding my thoughts and vision
    I'm discentigrating into infinity, infinity
Because all things must have an end
One way or another, one way or another

Why can't you see that I'm falling into infinity, infinity?

"That's what you sang when we first met." Melios looked at the ground. Then, before I knew what was happening, I was trapped in his arms with his head buried into my shoulder. I glanced at the others, who were all enthralled, mouths open (and a strawberry halfway to Warren's).

    "What?"
