- The rain rushed down her old country home that day. Amy was tired of all this rain! She threw herself on the sofa hoping to get some sleep. She closed her eyes drifting into a deep sleep. There was a knock at the door which woke her. She answered it with a surprise to see Jake standing there. He hugged her then walked in without saying hello. “Nice house!” he told her. She gave him an unpleasant smile then closed the door. Jake had been Amy’s ex-boyfriend and she hated him. “Oh Amy, you look beautiful.” He told her. “Thanks.” Amy replied, “What happened to Lora?” He paused then looked at her. “Let’s not talk about that. Where’s your washroom?” he said in a stubborn voice. Once she pointed it out and he was in there someone called. “Hello?” Amy said. “Where is my husband?” the voice asked. “Uh…who is this?” Amy replied. “Lora Cane.” The voice answered. “He is not here Lora.” Amy lied. “YOU’RE LIEING!” Lora screamed. “I can see his car!” she added. “Amy looked at the window to see Lora’s car sitting in front of the house. “He’s in the washroom.” She truthfully told her. “Why?” Lora asked. “He said he a really needed to use it.” Amy lied again. Lora fell for it then hung up. She drove away just as Jake came out from the washroom. He placed his hands on Amy’s shoulders. He kissed her neck many times which made Amy feel strange. “Jake what are you doing? You’re married!” she said not even trying to push him away. “We’re divorced.” He told her continuing to kiss her. “Stop.” She said with a giggle. She turned around to face Jake. He suddenly kissed her on the lips. She didn’t want this to happen. She didn’t want to kiss her best-friend’s ex-husband. It turned out that the window was still open and Lora drove by. She was hart broken to see Jake making out with Amy. Jake stayed that night. They watched movies and had diner. Then suddenly the phone rang. “You b***h! You were making out with my husband!” Lora screamed. “Your ex-husband.” Amy corrected. It turned out they were never divorced nor separated. Lora hung up crying. This made Amy feel bad. She told Jake to go home because she needed to go out with some people from work. He fell for the lie and went home. Later that night while she was in bed she heard footsteps. Her bedroom door opened and someone crawled into bed with her. They were stroking her hair and kissing her head. She then felt something cold, sharp and metal poke her leg. She turned on the light and hoped out of bed. It was Jake lying there with a knife. “Jake! Why do you have a knife?!” she yelled. She then noticed the blood marks on the knife then she felt her leg. Her leg was not cut but the blood from the knife was on her. Keeping calm, she pointed at the knife, “WHY DOES IT HAVE BLOOD ON IT?!” she screamed (ok maybe not that calm). “You got away from me the first time. As for Lora and the others, they were not late.” He explained in a creepy voice getting out of the bed. “I’m sorry for your lose.” He continued as he walked toward Amy. “For what?” Amy gulped walking away. “The loss of your best friend Lora.” He said with a sigh, “You can’t turn back time, so sorry she died. It was her time. Now it’s yours!” he said running toward her. Amy screamed running for the bedroom door. He ran after her in rage. She stood in front of the railing screaming as he ran after her. This was because she had injured her foot the other day. As soon as he was closer to her she dodged the knife and him. She punched him in the face which made him let go of the knife. She grabbed the knife and tried to take off. He grabbed her leg pulling her down. He crawled on top of her wrapping his hands around her neck. In self-defense she plunged the knife into his chest. She broke from his grip and ran to all the police. The police never charged Amy with murder and were only able to find Lora’s body not the “others”. Amy attended Lora’s funeral and moved out the house. She bought a nice little small house in the city. But some say if you walk through Amy’s old house you can hear footsteps of Jake throughout the house and you can hear his voice on stormy rainy nights.
