Basic Military Training... wasn't too rough on me. Really, the most vivid memory of it I have, 5.5 years afterwards, is that it was my first exposure to a Drama Queen willing to let her nature get in the way of her life... the girl let folding shirts prevent her from succeeding. We offered to help! And I thought avoiding a social life in Highschool would protect me from that.
Recently a friend was being a jerk, but he said 'go ahead and tell me to shut up any time.' WTF? Is my not complaining a sort of permission to do that s**t? You look bad makin fun of me, but you can't hurt me. I've thick skin. I have a pouty looking face, 'so in basic, lots of Training Instructors thought 'whoo victim imma make her cry!,' so I got alot of crap. I paid just enough attention to the stream of explectives and threats to navigate the maze of trick questions correctly, and eventually the TI would realize I don't cry when people scream at me, and can always pay attention to detail.
OK, since I'm immune to legal forms of psychological torture, the hardest part was physical. I was so exhausted, I sprained my ankle jogging in place, and I lost like 30 pounds. BMT is hard. Yeah. Took as much patience as Devil May Cry 2 'Super Hard Pain Doom Mode of Painful Hard Doom;' but I'm not the sort to throw the controller across the room. I got thick skin.
Hey, Ainsel. If you ever read this, remember, when you make fun of me, the only thing you got to worry about is how you look making fun of the pouty girl in front of the other guys. None of this, trying to throw the ball back in my court, 'cause I don't really care either way. mrgreen
