(This totally needed it's own entry due to the fact I have so much to say!)
The equation: FLVS + Math = Imaginary Number. I can't say it any better
[I hope ive explained this before] FLVS is a online school for Florida students. It's free, for Florida Students. You don't have to be a Florida High schooler to take classes - you can live anywhere in the USA. I'd imagine most states have their own Online schools, but that's besides the point.
FLVS math course.. sucks. I should probably explain why I'm doing online school in the first place. Caitlin last summer decided she was going to attempt online Geometry. I told her "it's insane!". We were also taking Psychology online [for our online requirement] at the time. She ended up dropping out because it was so much work. After that, I starting joking around, saying "next summer we should take Algebra 2 online together!" ... and that's how this happened.
At the time I wasn't serious. As the year wanned on, I started saying that all the time. I told my family I was going to do it, my friends. About half way through the year, I was set on taking Alg 2 this summer. Now I didn't account having Chinese still but, that's another story.. (that I will tell at the end).
I am still just a Freshmen/Sophomore. Technically a Sophomore at this point, I mean come on it's summer. So I'm going to be 2 year's ahead of most kids in my grade for Math.
Okay back to FLVS and there failure.
Their Algebra 2 course is well.. ridiculous. Sometimes they decide "oh lets just give the kid's examples, they'll figure it out". Sometimes on the assignments (more like all at this point), they add a question at the end like "make your own equation" blah blah blah. How the ******** would making my own equation teach me anything? Me and Caitlin decided this is because of their lazyness.
Another thing I tend to notice [more in the Chinese course] is the array of spelling errors. This is a school course, who spells "they" wrong? I've also come across one or two faulty questions before, were I KNEW FOR 100% I had the right answer BUT IT'S WRONG.
So, this is me spilling out my feelings about FLVS. Sorry not sorry
Now if they would hurry up and add a damn Creative Writings class, my opinion MIGHT change....
(About the Chinese course: Caitlin had told me she wanted to take French. We were originally going to take Sociology, but she dropped out and exchanged it for French. I, not wanting to take it alone, said "we'll I'll just take Chinese (I was SICK of Spanish at this point) and signed up. Honestly I think I freaked her out but, Chinese IS hard. No language is hard - before I ramble about that, that's a whole other post)
