Recently, I've begun to wonder about the status of my friendship among my male friends.
For one, how is it that they become friends with me? At first, I thought it was that I'm easy to get along with, I'm really nice, and I have a variety of interests. I love fantasy, reading, and gaming. I'm understanding (most of the time), although stubborn. Overall, I'm easy-going. Maybe that's it.
But now that I think about it, perhaps they had some sort of attraction to me? Do they agree that I'm "awesome" because they wish to appeal to my affections, instead of agreeing because they think so or because they're my friend? Here's a girl that games, has an imaginative mind, and doesn't judge too harshly unless there's a reason to. Her interests in music and shows, zombies or villains, aren't like other girls that you meet more often in public. She's naturally pretty, slim, and overlooks physical features depending on friendship status.
I can see why and how someone would be attracted to me. And the realization that maybe many of my guy friends became close to me was because they secretly thought they had a chance at wooing me is both shocking and predictable, exhausting even. Their smiles or light-hearted jokes had hidden meanings.
