Daryl held on to his sanity while Randall told his little story. He focused on the boys eyes. A darkness crept around his pupils. a smirk twitched at the edge of his mouth and the facade shifted. Daryl could see right through him for a moment.
But then he couldn't see 'Randall' at all. He knew he was lying when he swore he wasn't like that, he didn't join in. Daryl had one super power, no one could lie to him and get away with it.
A Few Days Later...
Daryl stared over at the barn. He flinched, twitched, then focused when he saw the barn door shudder then open. He grabbed Dales spare binoculars and peered through them. The boy didn't pause, he just ran, stumbling into the fence in his rush. Daryl quickly jumped up and ran, full speed down the hill. He screamed that the kid was getting away, but everyone was inside. Before he could catch him, the boy vanished into the woods. Daryl chased for a while, long enough to just about get himself lost. He realized he wasn't armed, save for his knife. Daryl carefully picked his way along, keeping his eyes and ears and body peeled for evidence. In the thick brush he soon lost the boys trail. he went marching back to camp, frowning. The others had gather at the porch, so he delivered the grim news. "The boy escaped." He murmured. All rushed to the barn, as if to 'check' on the report. Sure enough, he was gone.He had found a metal sliver, Daryl wasn't sure where. He had fashioned it and picked the lock.
"What do we do?" Lori asked, fearfully. "We leave. All of us, right now." "Leave? We can't just leave." 'Oh, yes we can." Hershel frowned at Rick. "all of us, you mean, us too? What about the animals? The house... this is my house.. I... i can't... just leave." "We could build up our weapons, keep a real watch, night and day..." Shane offered. Daryl shook his head. "Leaving is the better option." He answered. "He told me him and his group rape and murder, they dont bat an eye at it. They wont bat an eye at out little group, either." shane frowned, unable to contain his glare at the other man.
"We should go out and look for him again, he may have gotten stuck somewhere?" Shane offered, looking over at Rick. Rick shrugged.
in the end Shane won out, for a want to stay, they liked it there.
Meanwhile..
Randall whimpered, falling hard on his stomach. He gagged and laid there for a moment. When night came he crawled up into a tree and stayed there until sunrise. Then he went wandering again. It took him a few days to find his camp again. when he did, they were gone, for the next stop. His things were still there Abandoned because they were too lazy to take it down. He crawled into the tent and fell asleep. he didn't wake up until he heard moaning. He peaked out and sawseveral zombies shuffling past his tent. He re-zipped his tent and closed up the mesh window flap. He held his blade, shaking. He held his breath for a few hours, it fle tlike, before the shuffling finally stopped and he felt safe enough to venture out. His leg was screaming at him, throbbing against his pant leg. He slowly left the tent, staying hyper aware. Once he was satisfied that there was no walkers he breathed a sigh of relief and delved back into his tent, to find some
