A Long and Winding Road
A furious bout, no, a comitment of two souls in glorious battle. It had last 3 days, 17 hours each day, we went through 4 swords and 5 shields each. Our equippment proved equal, but his mind proved to outwit mine at every turn... He had not spoken... Was i not worthy? Was I just some urchin to be destroyed... My blood boiled... I had been hit 4 times, he had been hit 0... I couldn't believe it... My blood loss minimal... But... My blood... It seemed to do nothing for him... It satiated no need... I was in disbelief...My anger... I could barely contain it... But I couldn't lose cnotrol, it'd be the mistake to cost me my life... Tears flowed from my eyes... Why could I not win... My mind is sharper than any blade, my armor was like my second skin, the blade like an extension of my arm, but yet, he seemed to have me beat at every turn. I just made it worse... That he wouldn't talk... His helmet shielded his entire face... All I could see were his eyes... Blue... And his smirk... Arrogant... He knew he was going to win from my first swing... I can believe of all the battles I've had i'd lose to someone so cocky, arrogance costs you your life in battle, and being timid is the same, you need the balance, but he was pure arrogance... How could he be so level headed and so cocky?!?! I lurched blade first, and got n elbow to the spine... Dazed i turned around slowly and nearly took a blade to the cheek, nrrowly parrying his strike, my counter forced him to stagger, so I tripped him, but he rolled to the side dogging my sweep. He lowered his blade and pointed it at a 45 degree angle towards my helm's insignia, he jumped, I charge, ducking the bladed and hardbutting him straight in the gut, and the first noise he had made, it was a wince. And for the first time in the 4 days this battle had been going on for, the smirk left his face. our blades met in a fury, I still had the strength advantage, his speed was at the same as mine, his reach slightly shorter, I have the physical advantage, so this I won, finally landing my blade to his left arm, he tossed his shield, and picked up a second sword. His speed had nearly doubled, so after getting a lucky parry, I toss my shield out for my dagger. My speed advantage was now tenfold, but His reach made it equal. We go into a fury of steel and, before I know it my dagger is flying away, my helm is off, and i am on my knees. I look into his eyes, then i bow my head in defeat. I hear a voice, I look up to seee who is talking, the voice was not what I had expected. The warrior who had faced me... Was not what I expected. Her voice sweet, her eyes, beautiful, she took off her helmit, her blonde locks fell down, I stared in amazement... She said, "You are far too skilled for me to kill like this, that is for another day, and another time. Besides, it's no fun killing someone who I have never met before." She hopped on her horse and left... I stared st my dagger in amazement... I was in love... And I had to train, get better, I had to find her, I am walking for a long and winding road to find the master swordsman who defeated me, so I can win, and confess my love...
