The rest of yesterday was rough. I found myself in my room halfway between lunch and dinner, crying. I don't even remember how I even got there. By the time I had calmed down enough, I was working on my room. I went to sleep to restless dreams and hours of lying awake. I was up and about before anyone else was.
Nicholas started showing me what they were doing after he had eaten. He was impressed that I knew the Ancient's language, even if just barely. I think he took a liking to me because of it because he started talking about things that I understood and was amazed by.
By the time dinner rolled around, I was working on a console, chatting lightly with Nicholas as we worked. Eli broke in to remind us that dinner was served. I headed to my room for some food before heading back to the Core.
Nicholas soon joined with Eli. It wasn't till I realized I was zoning out did I quit for the day. Somehow Eli had heard what had happened the other night and bid me good night. Nicholas looked saddened by my leave but he said good night as well. That was nice.
Hopefully I won't have to deal with very many others from now on. Working in the Core will seclude me to the group of scientists and even that number fluctuates. Who knows. Maybe I'll even be able to be able to do some repairs. That'll be nice.
