Only twice in his life up to this moment had Osore encountered the words "Demon Lord." The first occasion came in the form of a story Hnoss had read to him when he was but a boy; his favorite story. In the story, seven heroes had set out to challenge a powerful, Succubus-like demiurge known as the Demon Lord. This Demon Lord was the most powerful of her kind and had something the majority did not: an immortal soul that enabled to return again and again unless one were to strike at her heart, which was actually a demonic sword which she used to spill her blood out of which lesser demons were spawned. If she lost a limb, all she had to do was acquire a discarded body part of some demon, and a new limb would be reborn. Certainly a creature to be feared. The story had concluded with the Demon Lord's demise and the sacrificial death of the seventh hero.* The second occasion had been now. Only this time, Osore was facing the genuine article while wondering whether Alain, or rather Niaall, the Demon Lord Ialdabaoth High Priestess, was still under his influence. Given the Demon Lord's character, he was right to worry. On the one hand, the transformation had wrought incredible results upon Alain. Her hair was considerably darker and possibly longer, plus she was also wearing next to nothing with the torn robes on her body. Her Norse runes had changed into a demonic script he couldn't read. And...naturally, she stank of evil. "War? When?" Those were her first words. And despite his worries, Osore smiled as he returned her feather-light, poisonous kiss. It only caused the slightest of burns, which is no burn at all. "The womb of curses-- From this unholy place Springs the genesis Of all destruction. In the base of the Labyrinth, veiled in Darkness-- The Throne belongs To the Demon Lord. Cloaked in the facade of A raven-haired maiden-- Seemingly composed Of flesh and blood. Do not doubt, For it is the Demon Lord. Her eyes are stained With darkness. Gloom colors Her soul. Her powers Match those of the Dark Gods..." A/N: The story Osore is alluding to is Record of Lodoss War: Lady of Pharis. Several years later, the Demon Lord's sword appears again, this time as "Soul Crash" and in the possession of Dark Emperor Beld in The Grey Witch series and is a cursed item. When Beld is killed, Soul Crash passes on to Ashram the Black Knight, his successor of sorts who shares the same dream Beld did when alive--to unite Lodoss under one king...
