1,257 years have passed since the destruction of the planet called Earth. The year is now 4000 and more than ¾‘s of the population that use to reside on the planet Earth are now living on the planet Saturn. This might seem impossible, but when the famous scientist Thomas Ferna developed titanium that was immune to the basics of space, he proceeded to rocket out to Saturn. Hovering over the rings orbiting the planet, Ferna then captured the gasses that made up Saturn into a titanium ball. With the titanium ball in place, the water molecules in the planet began to magnetize themselves to the titanium ball. This only lasted for so long. Soon after, many scientists came to this new Saturn and with them, of course, their piping hot technology, which in turn began to defrost the planet. Saturn soon becomes a water planet, since most of the ice had melted. Many years later, the planet had been wrapped in a protective layer of a plastic and glass mixed substance. A girlish figure sat on her high hill that faced the west of the world; cold but comfy, counting down in seconds till the ‘sun’ would rise. Her red hooded sweater, with the sleeves tore off, flapped gently in the breeze. The word Zero was sewn on the back of the sweater in black. Her camouflaged shorts were covered in dirt and dried mud. When the ‘sun’, better known as Genex would arise, it was when the rings orbited over one half of Saturn and was able to provide a light. When it went down, ‘sunset’, was called Senix. This was when the rings were no longer able to provide light anymore. When the ‘moon’ rose into the sky it was known as Gornia, this was basically just when it got dark. The ‘moon’ was the other half of the ring that did not provide any light but was more of a shadow across the sky. When the ‘moon’ went down it was called Sarnia, for the rings finally went all the way around Saturn. “3, 2, 1” Zero whispered out loud as Genex manifested in the sky wrapping into Sarnia, Saturn’s rings came up over the horizon fabricating the illusion of a `sun’, Genex. Purple meshed with a mixed yellow and orange, fighting for dominance over the sky. As the Genex began to rise even higher, the sky started to show itself to the world. A thick fog like color could be seen across the horizon and if you looked close enough small specks of stars twinkled through the glass even during the day. Zero lived on Saturn which was still known as that to those outside of the planet but for those who live inside the glass and plastic mixed shield it was better known as Ferna. The island she lived on was called Bamboo it was located in the North Blue near another island called Kade. Bamboo, was split into six sections of the island each had its own name: Kuro, Daichi, Hina, Kokoro, Noboro, and Wakana. Zero lived in a section of Kuro in a little village close to the shores of the great North Blue called Palet. Her house was in a small section of trees that was near the end of the road in her village next to a colossal hill that keeps watch over the village. “Well, dad, I wonder what will happen today.” Turning her head towards the small stick in the ground lodged firmly but secure. Zero turned her head back toward Genex as the warmth of the light began to envelop her body. “Dam it, I’m lost again, I just know it, stupid frickin’ map!” The voice rang out in the wide open village jostling most from their sleep. Zero who was still sitting atop her hill like a throne chair, ears twitched from the noise, which from where she was could be called a distant sound. “Hm...” Zero knew that many of the villagers didn’t awake until a long time after Genex, so this sound she heard could only be someone who was a non villager. “Right then dad, I’ll go take care of this, you can count on me.” Zero stated to the stick in the ground next to her with a huge grin planted across her face. Putting her hand over her eyes and on her eyebrows, Zero looked out into the distance of the village trying to pinpoint the noise. “AH HA!” Zero exclaimed with an excided yell. “There you are, and here I come” With that Zero rushed down her hill at her max speed leaving only dust in her tracks. “What the hell is that?” as the dust climbed in the sky leaving a trail of Zero’s path behind her. Zero was quickly coming up upon the noisy person who had dared to invade her village. But with an uncoordinated trip, Zero rolled down the rest of the hill and into the village, coming to a stop at the end of the hill only to have the force of the spinning push her into the person. “What the hell is your problem?” The person asked as Zero looked down to see that she had crashed into a girl, about her age. “Oh sorry, did you hear a person yelling about being lost a little bit ago?” Zero questioned, she was sure this young girl could not be that person. “Yeah, idiot, that was me.” The girl replied back “What did you call me!?” Zero was furious with her now “You heard me stupid, whatcha going to do about it?” the girl told her back in a cocky ‘I’m stronger then you’ voice. “You’re lucky I don’t hit girls, what’s your name anyways, not that I care or anything?” Zero asked with her arms folded over her chest angry and curious. “My names Rayne Ary, I’ll have you know. And I don’t suppose you have one do you ya brat.” Ary, told Zero in a superior tone, expecting her to know her name. With this she did a quick turn and swished her monk robes, which were black and purple, showing off her more superior role in life. Zero notes that she had a small gourd like container at the side of her waist with a label on it that read ‘Sake’. She as well was holding a staff that looked basically like a regular stick with white string and paper attached to it and a small bell. On her back was a sheath, small enough for Zero to know it might not be a sword. Ary had long butt length dark purple hair flowing free that complimented her fair skin and dark black eyes. She also had a white cloth to tie her hair. “Yeah I do have a name and it’s a lot better than yours!” Zero said, tightening her eyes in fury “Well?” Ary questioned her “Well what?” Zero blinked in confusion lost at what they were talking about and slightly embarrassed as well. “Idiot, what’s your name,” Ary informed Zero with a smirk, as she turned her back to face Zero, “you’re really stupid.” “No I am not and it Pein D. Zero.” Zero shouted at Ary tired of her cocky attitude. Ary and Zero’s argument was interrupted by the sounds of a cannon shooting off near the village. The explosion gave off a loud bang that if heard far way your ears would survive the blast, but the experience up close would make any person go deaf. Zero knew what she had to do should these cannons be what she thought they were. Quickly, Zero pushed Ary out of her way and headed back up her humongous hill to a little shack that sat nestled safely on top of peek. Of course Ary followed after, she was terribly angry for the way Zero seemed to treat her. “Hey, what the hell are ya thinking, you jerk” Ary yelled from the ground where she had fallen when Zero had pushed her. Zero ignored Ary’s argent words and ran even faster than before up the hill. Ary, still raging, jumped up and ran after Zero, slowly following after in Zero’s footsteps. Finally at her shack Zero grabbed her telescope and stretching it out to it maximum length, Zero searched the island shore line for signs for who the cannons belonged to. “There you are ya pirates” Zero said to herself and to Ary unknowingly. “What are you going to do” Ary asked Zero worried about the action she might take, her emotions taking a full turn. “What are ya on your period or something, don’t be such a wimp!” Zero, still looking through the telescope, told Ary, fully intending to save her village from this group of pirates. “I am going to save us all.” Zero told Ary as she put her telescope back in it rightful place. “Are you going to sit up here drinking?” Zero asked Ary as she took a backpack, worn out brown and slung it over her shoulder. Zero also grabbed two sheathed swords and an old red bandana. She took her bandana and wrapped it around her messy black hair making it even messier. “So you’re gonna leave me, you’re such a DUMBASS!” Ary yelled as Zero walked out the door. Leaving her behind, as Ary began to shake in fury. “So come along then” Zero said as she stuck her head back into the door way of the old worn down shack. “Really, you made me think, idiot…”Ary said with a whimper and wiped her eyes clean. “Let’s go, before they get into the town’s harbor.” Zero once again told Ary with a huge maniac grin gracing her face. Ready to meet the challenge of what these pirates might bring Zero ran excitedly out the door with Ary not too far behind her. On the shore, the docks had a pirate ship tied to it that had a flag that was decorated with a skull. This particular skull had, of course like other skulls, hollowed eyes and nose blackened as dark as the endless night sky. The teeth on this skull were white with a few of them filled in with a nice golden color. On its head was a huge fuzzy black afro that was actually tilted slightly to the right. The pirate gang its self was filled with a bunch of burly men in ripped up slacks and old long and short shirts. The captain also known as Captain Afro Hayato, he was the leader. He sported a big black crocked afro on his head with a vest that was a bright neon purple color, only found on very distant islands. His slacks although ripped up reached his ankles, they were a nice dark green with and old orange slash on his waist to support his baggy slacks. His shoes were huge almost a size 15 and were sandals that were lifted 3 feet off the ground sported by the wood built underneath them. As their ship hit the dock with a rather loud and watery ‘bump’, Captain Afro jumped off his ship with a great ‘oomph’. And as his greedy eyes took in the sleeping town he smirked slowly showing off his snagal tooth as it gleamed in the light. “This will do nicely. Men come ashore!” Captain Afro ordered to his afro henchmen ready to pillage and take over this puny town. “Not while I exist, will you ever be able to take over my town,” Zero’s voice came booming in the distance as she slid down her hill on the back of a trash can lid. “Who the hell are you?” Captain Afro screamed to Zero with all his power. As rage enveloped him at the thought of this girl stopping him. “I am Pein D. Zero.” Zero stated first as she reached the bottom of the hill and jumped from her trash can top to the ground. “And we are here to stop you.” Zero now said with hands at her sides in a super hero pose. From behind Captain Afro, a boy around 18 years old poked his head out to see the commotion. The boy was Marlo Sentic; Sentic was tall maybe 5’9” with furious, burning red hair, which was very uncommon in this day in age. He, unlike the rest of the crew, didn’t wear an afro but he had short blue jeans and low to the ground regular sandals with a white t-shirt but filled with random designs that would never make any sense. “What can a single puny girl like you do to stop me? You’re just a kid, so go home a play with your dolls and leave the sword fighting to the big boys.” Captain Afro sneered at Zero, with his arrogance obvious to her because he thought he was better than her because he was older. “No can do Gramps” Zero said this with her grin in place as she unsheathed her trusty twin swords. “No one will ever take over my town” She repeated herself again “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING GRAMPS, YOU SNOT NOSED BRAT!” Captain Afro yelled with such anger since nobody ever disrespected him before. “Sorry you don’t like gramps, hm…..how about Fuzz Head, yeah I like that, Fuzz Head.” Zero ridiculed Captain Afro, as she laughed out loud at the nickname she had come up with. “S-s-shut Up!” Captain Afro stuttered out angrily as he clenched his hand into a tight fist. Having had enough of Zero’s attitude, Captain Afro rushed, fists clenched ready to fight at her. Zero not completely prepared for his attack was taken off guard by the sudden movement. But before the Captain could reach Zero, she was, in a blinding blur, pushed out off the way. “What the-” As Zero looked at the spot she had just been in to see who could have possible pushed her, Zero was astonished to see Ary in her place now on the ground holding her cheek. “Ary, you ok?” Zero was worried and angry, with both emotions mixing together now wanting to be released. “Yeah, I m fine, do me a favor and kick his a**,” Ary asked Zero with a small smirk of her own, gracing her sore swollen face now. “Can do, buddy.” Zero smiled as she made her promise to defeat these pirates. She then turned and her once pleasant smile left her face. It was replaced with a hard glare and a bitter straight face that promised to kill. “You’re going down!” This is all Zero said to Captain Afro. As she grabbed her swords from her side and held one in each hand. “You can never beat me, stupid little kid.” “Muahahahahahahahahahahah-” Captain Afro Hayato cackled his evil laugh not even prepared for Zero. She was running at him before his crew could even warn him and with a quick blunt hit with the hilt of her sword, down he went. Zero backed up, wanting to be taken seriously in this fight, she would not attack him from behind that was against her morals. But as Captain Afro regained his balance, Zero got into her stance fully ready this time for anything she might throw at her. “Brat your gonn-” Again he was cut off as Zero rushed at him, and this time she used the blunt side of her blade as a warning to him. “I tell you this once, you need to take me seriously or the next time I’ll use you to sharpen my blade.” Zero warned him as she flipped her sword over from the blunt end to the sharp blade. “And I tell you this, men get her.” Captain Afro was finally able to say, as his men jumped from the side of the ship onto the dock. They rushed at Zero with many different kinds of weapons and although Zero was a great fighter, she could not take on this many by herself. “Don’t worry Zero I’ll get them.” Ary’s voice came from behind her as she stood up with help from her staff and walked in front of Zero. Ary’s staff was made of wood but with enough force behind that staff, she could kick some serious a**. With the crew off her mind Zero turned her attention back to Captain Afro, who at the moment feared the worse. “Now, fight me!” Zero commanded as she once again rushed towards Captain Afro, and he towards her. They clashed with a strong wind force on impact, her swords against his dagger, which he pulled from behind his back. Her swords broke through the one dagger defense and as Captain Afro was in shock, for those few seconds, Zero switched her blade around to the blunt edge and hit him full force on the head. Ary had by that time knocked out the entire crew with the exception for one lasting crew member who was welding only his strength against her staff. Even with the odds more in her favor this red head boy was faring rather well against her. “Why do you keep fighting? Your whole crew is knocked out.” Ary whispered out loud hopping that this battle would end soon, because she was losing stamina and fast. “Why are you fighting?” Apparently the boy had heard her and answered back with a question, of course, Ary hated when people did that. “I fight for myself” Ary yelled back at him as their fight came to a stand point. “Are you sure that’s all you fight for?” The boy asked again as her nodded over to Zero, who was taking the knocked out bodies and throwing them onto the Afro pirate ship. “Yes, I am completely sure.” Ary grounded out very close to losing her temper at this boy. “Okay, then I give up.” the boy said with a smile as he turned and began to walk to the ship. “Okay fine then- wait, what?” Ary was in shock that the battle had just ended so easily. “Yeah, you win.” The boy simply told her “Will ya wait, what’s your name?” Ary asked now suspicious of this boy and the way he was acting. “Me? My names Marlo Sentic, nice to meet-cha,” Sentic introduced himself with the same smile still in place on his face. “You’re one weird fruit loop.” Ary couldn’t resist the urge to pick on him. “Hey, Ary, whatcha doing?” Zero walked over with a proud grin and happy dance in her walk. “Zero, this is Sentic, he gave up” Ary explain almost like she was placing a label on the poor boy. “Oh, why’d you do that?” Zero questioned, scratching her head in wonder. “’cause I m not part of this gang.” “WHAT.” Ary screamed, she was stumped as to why Sentic had been fighting if not for his crew. “Well, you know I just was there, so I did what he told me to do.” Sentic explained to Ary and Zero. “So whatcha gonna do now.” Zero asked Sentic “I don’t know, travel I guess.” Sentic replayed with a confused and lost puppy dog look on his face. “Well you can come with us, if you want to?” Zero told Sentic hopping that he would in fact join and she would have another person who would go on her adventure with her. “Sure I’d love to-” Sentic started to tell Zero but she was cut off by Ary. “What do you mean we?” Ary turned to face Zero with questions on her tongue. “Yeah, you, me and Sentic, we can all travel together.” Zero said as she put her arms behind her head and began to make her was towards the hill. “Zero come back here!” Ary screamed loudly in her wake as she and Sentic followed closely behind her. Zero sat once again a top her hill next to her father’s grave and as she laid on her back watching the sky and stars in the far distance. A small smile spread across Zeros lips as she closed her eyes thankful for the day’s events and the two new friends she had made. “Dad, this is going to be one hell of an adventure.”
