the day i fly out. or at least how i think it'll go |

i wake up at 4-5 in the morn. mostly because my alarm went off 'cause i was too lazy to change the time for it to go off. i look at the time and get out of bed seeing that there's no reason to go back to sleep.
i go to the bathroom to take a shower and fall asleep for a few minutes against the wall standing up. i wake up and don't even bother getting out of my clothes. i just turn on the water and sit there letting the hot water hit me, waking me up. after a few minutes of sitting under hot water, i wake up and just take the shower like a normal person would. in the middle of the shower i look up and hear a banging on the door. "kim hurry up. you leave in three hours." i look at the shower curtain and then realize what day it is.
after rushing to dry off (hair's still dripping like crazy) and getting dressed in what other people had chosen, i quickly packed my bag for the summer. i had the essentials, clothes, collar,toothbrush, brush, comb, music, pens, pencils, lead for the pencils, paper, notebooks, folders of stories ash had to edit, artwork, the camera, the camera's usb cord, extra batteries, pretty sure i had what would fit in the bag and then started packing my backpack with what i would need on the plane. a couple books, headphones for the music, gum, chapstick, i was forgetting something. i still had half an hour before i had to drive to the airport. crap. driver's lisence. i checked what two messages i had. both from ash. both giving me the same message. KIMMY'S COMING!!! I CAN'T WAIT TIL YOU GET HERE! I MISS YOU MORE NOW THAT YOU'RE COMING! i laughed and logged off. i signed in quickly to the im and no one was on but i had a missed message. i just smiled when i read it. i knew what it meant.
on the way to illinois, (i'm already on the plane) i try to take a nap and fail miserably. the plane was cold and thank god i had my sweater. i was readign about halfway through the plane ride and the pilot tells us that we have about an hour and half to two hours before landing. i lean my head back into the seat adn stare out the window. i'm almost ther guys.
i landed and headed into the terminal and got somethnig to drink before heading down to see them. i was shaking with excitment and fear. it'd been almost three years since i'd seen my sister and second mom. almost a year since i'd seen my boyfriend. i stopped near the bathrooms to throw away the empty cup and to answer nature's calling. after stalling longer than needed, i started back down the terminal to the luggage pick-up area, place, thing, yea there. i didn't see them right away but i did see my bag next to a pair of tripp pants and converse shoes. i looked up and there she was. she looked pissed but that was directed at my stalling an extra ten or twenty minutes. i tilted my head the way she was used to then she imitated my movement to let me know it was in fact my sister. i smiled my kimmy smile and walked toward her. we didn't hug right away, just stood in front of each other and then she let the anger in her face go and she gave me her smile that only i knew and it was like we'd never been seperated. my second mom hugged me and picked up her mothering easily and i told them i missed them like hell and asked where he was. naturally, he wasn't far. just enough to give me a moment of a family reunion. i didn't care actually. it was him and he was there. since my sister and second mother were there, we only had the option of hugging but he hadn't changed all that much and he picked me up off the ground. i briefly laughed and continued to enjoy my first few minutes of illinois before ash decided to drop the bomb on me before we walked in the door.
before she even said it i knew what was coming. the girl sitting on the porch had long blonde hair and too was wearing tripp pants. angel. she had a quick look over me and tackled me. i liked her but not the way a sister would like a sister. not yet anyway.
i was still looking forward to the rest of the summer when i'd meet the rest of the group and spend the day away from them.
but hey, that's just how i think that day will go.
