If a turtle loses his shell, is he homeless or naked?
Sinister chapter, wouldn't ya say?
The large cat wove his way through the undergrowth. It was almost time to put his plan to action. He had enlisted help from inside and outside his clowder.
The inside part had been hardest. Some cats were scum: Willing to betray their leader for a little extra power. Finding these cats had proved risky. One wrong word to the wrong cat, and his plan was gone just like that. Worse, he would be banished for treason.
Fortunately, he had been flawless while recruiting. When you werea second, you were as close to the rest of your clowder as you could without actually being a leader.
And with such a large clowder, there had to be at least a few that were growing restless with the old way of life. When he was leader, they would be powerful as well. Those who opressed him would crawl!
He had been hesitant to enlist outside help. His strong distrust of strangers had made this part make his stomach churn. But it had been worth it. Some were like that stupid she-cat he had encountered earlier: Desparate for a home and clowder, they had agreed to help. Others, he thought with a sasified purr, had been threatened that he and the cats he already had would kill their clowders unless they helped him take over his.
Life was good and Zar was kind, mused the big tom-cat. To the pit with his leader. It was time for revolution.
But this new clowder; they would pose a problem. That was why he was out again, searching for more cats to help him take them too. It shouldn't be that hard. His forces had grown, all the better for frightening cats into joining him. Yes, it would happen soon.
