I hugged my father. Today was the day that I had to leave to find Princess Snow.
“Scarlet please be careful.” my father said to me.
“I will dad. Don't worry. I'll find the princess and bring her back home.” I said smiling at him.
The wind gently blew my purple, and NAVY blue hair to one side. I was going to miss my father, but I had to go on this journey. Our land was already falling into great turmoil, and Princess Snow is the only one that can save it.
“Its hard to believe that it was only 14 years ago that you were chosen to be the Princesses Priestess.” my father said smiling at me.
“Father I must be on my way. It grows dark, and I must make it to the mountains before night falls.” I said hugging him one last time.
“Yes of course.” he said hugging me back.
I walked off. I turned and smiled at him. He smiled back at me and waved. With tears streaming down my face I waved back to him. I then turned and walked towards the mountains in the distance.
I reached the mountains before it got dark. I found a stream, and filled my water bottle with some water. I then sat against a tree, and took out some bread my father had packed. I heard a sound not to far ahead of me. I grabbed my bow and and readied an arrow.
“Who's there?” I questioned into the night.
“Woah! I come in peace.” a boy said as he stepped into the light of my fire. “I had seen your fire. I was just coming to see if you were friend or foe.” he said noticing that I still hadn't lowered my weapon.
“What is your name stranger?” I said relaxing, but still not putting down my bow.
“My name is Chelik. I was sent to find the one known as Scarlet and aid her in her search for Princess Snow.” he said.
“I'm Scarlet.” I said lowering my bow and arrow.
“Oh. I didn't expect such a beautiful girl.” he said looking into my sapphire blue eyes.
“Thank you.” I said looking into his emerald green eyes.
“Of course.” he said leaning against the same tree I was.
I sat down and continued eating. It was getting colder, and I did not bring any warm clothes. The wind blew and I shivered against it. I felt something drape around my shoulders. I looked up, and saw Chelik. He had put a blanket around me.
“Thank you.” I said pulling the blanket around me, and leaning back against the tree.
“Your welcome.” he replied.
“Good night.” I said, and drifted off to sleep.
When I awoke the next morning I saw Chelik stretching. I blushed at the sight of his muscles. He turned and smiled at me. I smiled back.
“Good morning Lady Scarlet.” he said walking towards me.
“Lady Scarlet? Please just call me Scarlet.” I said standing up.
“OK then Scarlet. Did you have a good nights sleep?” he asked reaching into hi bag, and putting a shirt on.
“Yes I did. How about you?” I said reaching into my bag for a different outfit.
“I had a wonderful nights sleep.” he answered.
I got out a red shirt with fishnet sleeves, black jeans, and combat boots with red strings.
“If you will excuse me I'm gonna go change.” I said walking to a tree surrounded by high bushes.
“Of course. If you need anything I'll be right over here getting everything packed.” he said.
I got changed and walked out with my hair down to my knees. Chelik was waiting for me with mine and his pack slung over his shoulder.
“Ready to go?” he asked me.
“Yes I am.” I said buckling my arrow to my back, and picking up my bow.
We started walking towards the path that will lead us through the Valley Mountains.
It was a treacherous trip, but we made it through the mountains. Along the way I had sprained my ankle so I'm now being carried on Chelik's back until it heals.
“Where is the Princess located?” Chelik asked while walking through the Forest Of Silence.
“She is located in the Land Of Ice.” I said to him.
“How do you know?” he curiously asked.
“I was given a necklace by the Elders of my Village when I was 5 year old. The necklace is a wolf in disguise, and I am able to communicate with it through thoughts.” I explained to him.
“Almost like my necklace. Mine is a fox, and it is able to let me know when an enemy is near. I was chosen by the Elders of my Village to help you on your journey when I was 5.” he explained to me.
“So you and your fox are able to communicate through thoughts also?” I asked curious.
“Yes we are. Does your wolf have a name?” he asked.
“Yes. Her name is Heaven. In case your wondering that is the name of my baby cousin, and in honor of her I named my wolf after her.” I said explaining before he could even ask.
“Thats a beautiful name. My fox's is Krad. He is named after my father who was an Angel.” he said looking up to the sky.
“Thats a wonderful name.” I said closing my eyes to take a short nap.
When I woke up we were in a clearing. A beautiful lake sat in front of me. The sun shining on the water made it look like a scene from a Fairy Tale where the prince is married to the beautiful princess. I smiled at my own comparison of the lake to a fairy tale. I then remembered something that I tried very hard to forget. I pulled my knees close, and closed my eyes as the scene from when I was 6 played in my head.
My mother, father, and I had come to this same clearing for a picnic. At that time the mountains did not separate the Forest of Silence from my village.
My mother had laid out the picnic blanket, and made the sandwiches while me and my father played in the lake. While splashing water at each other we heard my mother scream. We ran to her only to find her blood everywhere. I screamed, and cried as my father carried me home.
He had told the elders what had happened to my mother. They ordered the Mages of the village to move the mountains in front of the path.
“Scarlet! Are you OK?” I heard Chelik yell hugging me close to him. I had not even realized I started to cry.
“Yes. I-I was just having a flashback.” I said still crying.
“Come on lets get going. You can tell me about it later if you want.” he said picking me up, and carrying me through the forest.
Soon he had found a small Inn we could stay in. he sat me down on the bed, and asked me what had happened to trigger the flashback.
“That clearing we were at is where my mother was killed when I was six years old.” I said shadowing my eyes.
“Oh. I am very sorry.” he said not pressing the matter any more.
“Thank you.” I said lifting my head, and smiling at him. He smiled back.
“Your welcome.”
I slid down in my bed, and went to sleep.
When I woke up we were on the move again.
“How long was I asleep for?” I asked.
“About two days. You had a high fever so we stayed there. When your fever went down I put you on my back, and started off again.” he said stopping and setting me down.
“Oh. I'm sorry.” I said putting my ankle down and discovering that I could stand on it without it hurting.
“Its OK. Its not your fault.” he said smiling at me. I smiled back at him.
We started walking. Soon me and him stopped in our tracks and got ready to fight. From the shadows stepped a demon.
I readied my arrow, and waited. Chelik made the first move. When he attacked he managed to severely injure the demon. At which point I shot my Purifying Arrow. My arrow hit him in the heart, but that did not stop the demon. He threw a fire ball made of Ice at me. I managed to dodge, but barely.
“Chelik be careful!” I called to him. He nodded his head, and kept attacking him. I held out my hand and a staff appeared.
I ran at him with full force. Chelik and I attacked at the same time.
The demon managed to slash my arm, and my chest. The demon also managed to injure Chelik.
I jumped back and shot another purifying arrow at him. Chelik attacked him with full force which killed the demon.
The last thing I remember seeing is Chelik running to catch me before I hit the ground.
I woke up in a beautiful NAVY blue room with red carpets. I looked over to my side to find Chelik sleeping soundly on the bed next to mine. I got up and walked over to his bed. I sat in the chair, and watched his sleeping form.
“Heaven please come out.” I whispered softly.
There was a soft white light. When the light cleared a beautiful white wolf stood. Heaven you can communicate with Chelik's fox Krad can you not? “Y es I can. What is it you wish to tell him?” Tell him that I love him. “Of course.” Thank you.
I then stood and walked over to my bed, and laid down. I could hear the conversation between Heaven and Krad.
“Krad please tell your master that my master loves him.”
“Of course.”
“My master wishes for your master to know that he to loves her.”
“Thank you.
“Of course.”
Thank you heaven. I heard what Krad said.
“Of course.”
I then went to sleep again.
When I woke up a women with long white hair, and a beautiful long red gown with no sleeves was standing at my bed side. I gasped and quickally stood.
“Princess Snow. Its an honor.” I said while bowing.
“Please Priestess Scarlet stand up strait. There is no need for you to bow. I know why you have come. When your friend is healed we will be on our way.” she said to me.
“Of course Milady.” I said standing up strait.
A week later we were back in the Land Of Fire. I had become Princess Snow's head Priestess, and Chelik the head Priest.
Chelik and I were married 2 months after we had returned to give ourselves time to settle into out new roles. My father died 1 month after the wedding.
As head Priestess my job is to protect Princess Snow, and the Land Of Fire. As head Priest Cheliks job is to bless the new born babies, and bury the dead, but he also is a great help when demons attack the palace hoping to assassinate Princess Snow.
There is no real plot line to this. Its just something I wrote...
